Unhappy Nervous for this weekend – inevitably going off plan…

I have been SO GOOD the last 6 weeks of staying on plan, both exercise and nutrition. I have not had any slip ups and have even gotten to the gym a few extra times too. I’ve been really proud of myself, and best of all it’s paying off! However, because I have been so strict with myself lately any thoughts of deviating from the plan stress me out!!

This Saturday I am going to a concert (Tim McGraw!!) at a venue where we will be camping afterwards. I am going with a good girlfriend. I know we will be drinking some, which I have been avoiding for the past 3 weeks due to being very strict with myself. And I will be eating dinner while at the show itself, and we all know how healthy the food options are at concerts! I know I’ll get right back on plan Sunday. I guess what I’m looking for is for someone to tell me it’s OK to have a night off to just enjoy life without any restrictions. That I won’t regain the 15 lbs I’ve lost in just one night. I know logically that is impossible but I just feel so anxious about this weekend, like I’ll be screwing up all of my hard work!

Just continue to be positive.. watch what you drink and eat and keep in mind that a fun weekend every once in a while is good for the soul! You don't want to always push yourself to not mess up, it makes it harder when you do. Mistakes happen and if you never have fun, you'll begin to hate the lifestyle you're creating for yourself!
Look at it as a reward!
You did amazing for 6 weeks, you deserve a night out!!!

Have fun!!

Just have fun! This past weekend my boyfriend visited me.. and I went WAY off plan. Like fast food and all.. But I didn't gain any weight We walked..alot doing all the stuff we did. I probably could of lost weight if I had healthier options, but we were at a hotel, and could only eat out.

So what if u gain a pound or 2? You'll lose it real quick after.
Also, IDK about where you're going but at the concert venues here they have like chicken ceasur salad.

What I would do if I was SUPER worried about it, is eat a big healthy breakfast or lunch b4 you go.. then when you go just get a cheese burger or piece of pizza, and enjoy it. That way youll be too full for fries and extra.

Either way, go and have fun. Eat what you want. I'm so jealous I love Tim McGraw :]

my problem was always getting back on plan after a night like that. That's why I don't allow myself to go off plan. But you have to know yourself, that's what this whole weight loss journey is about. What works for me might not work for you, and what works for you likely won't work for me. Don't stress over, and don't let the planned off plan days last longer than planned. Oh and I'm totally jealous that you get to see Tim. I saw him last summer and he is awesome!! Have fun!

I know the feeling! Lol. It's hard to not worry about going off plan...and to feel slightly guilty while eating the unhealthy food or after eating it.

I've been on and off dieting for like 3 years now...and here's the thing: if you get right back on schedule its ok. Don't let a one day cheat become a one month cheat. That's what always happens to me eventually. BUT if you have one cheat day and go right back on schedule sometimes I find I actually see a drop in numbers. Because you kinda trick your metabolism sometimes.

So have fun at the concert...watching a gorgeous man who can sing with a good girlfriend usually guarantees this and enjoy your cheat day. Then hop back on the wagon.

You will not regain 15 pounds in one night. Your options might not be perfect, but you still have control, and can make decent choices while still having fun. The fun is not in the food, after all, it's about going to a concert with your friend!

You'll be fine, and you'll have fun =) Enjoy!

Even though you won't have a lot of control over your food choices, you'll still be able to make SOME sensible decisions, like not eating when you're not hungry, not eating more once you're full, side-stepping some extras (fries, pop, etc). Allow yourself to see those positives within a difficult situation.

I think it's easy to become obsessed by food - whether it's being obsessed with making good choices OR being posessed by bad ones. We need to be able to relax a little bit every so often (as long as it won't derail you - and it really doesn't sound like it will).
