Default Comiserating with my older pals...

...and they all told me, "Just wait until you hit 45!". Did you have an age where your body really seemed to change and. get. older?

I'm 41, and yes, it's taken me 2 weeks to recover from tendenitis-type issues (in every friggin tendon, it seems) but I'm also doing more exercise than I ever have before so it didn't seem age related so much.

I remember when I hit 35 and noticed my metabolism slowing down (i.e. I was eating the same and exercising the same but I started to gain fat).

What age would you say you were when your age really hit you?

now...... from last summer to this summer i noticed a big change 46 now, started slowly at 43. I am physically in good shape believe it or not for my weight I work out regularly as well as just started playing tennis for fun. if i miss a week of workouts then go back to my regular routine I am sore. This includes 1 hour of high intensity cardio including stairs and hill climbing 5 days a week and 20 min 4 times a week of upper body weights and 3-4 games of tennis.

When I drifted into my 30's, I noticed that everything seemed to give me indigestion. I'm 43 now, and I haven't noticed any other significant changes. I know they are coming, tho. I'm fortunate in that I've yet to get any lines or wrinkles on my face, not even crows feet when I smile. I also have very light blonde hair, so the white that's coming in just looks like highlights.

Psychologically, I'd say changes began in my mid-30's. Thoughts of sky-diving lessons and the like have been pushed aside. The older you get, the more you realize the risks of certain things.

Hello!
It's so nice to find a group of ladies who are dealing with this issue too...

I think I noticed the change in my ability to lose weight right after I had my daughter at 40. After I had my son at age 32, I was able to get that weight off, no problem (I'd only gained around 20 lbs. because he was 6 wks. premature). But after I had my daughter, it was like my metabolism just up and quit on me.

I'm 44 now and my husband is eight years younger than I, so I feel an obligation of sorts to "keep up" with him. When we got together, I was around 130 lbs. and lookin' good. I felt good about myself and that's what he was attracted to. I'd like to get back there. Not for him necessarily, but for myself so that I can live a long, happy life with my hubby & kiddos.

It's so frustrating to put in SOOO much work in exercising five days a week and eating right for six weeks only to see a 6 lb. loss on the scale.
I hate this aging-body-changing-thing SO. MUCH.
