Exclamation Need Help With Motivation!!!

So for the past 3.5 months I have been working out very religiously, but latetly I haven't wanted to at all. I'm not sure what my problem is because I've been doing so well. I've lost 12 pounds this year which is crazy amazing, but I can't get motivated to actually workout anymore....I don't know what to do

I hear ya on that one! I'm pretty sure if I didn't have my trainer at all I would have stopped working out long ago. As for the motivation I don't know what to tell you...I'm having the lack in that department too, but to be honest I don't think anyone can help out they can give you ideas and tell you what to do...but that motivation and remember why you're doing this has to come within you.

I feel ya! that was me this week.. Ive been very BLAH.. and my motivation is out the window and eating habbits are kinda not so strict. I think im about to get my "monthly gift" lol but Im trying to stay positive and go back to being good... dont want all that weight back and starting ALL over.. We can always call it a rest then go back to the grind! keep ya head up girly!

You just have to do it when you are ready and when you really want to. I must agree with LA85--the most important thing is that you don't back track but that you maintain your weight right now. You don't want to have to start all over and gain the 12lbs you lost.

Motivation is fleeting, it will come and go. Don't depend on motivation.

We need to depend on habits and make our healthy choices habits. That takes time. In the mean time, you have to trick yourself into making the good choices.

For me, I work out after work. So I keep my gym clothes bag in the passenger seat. It is there staring at me after work. I feel so guilty if I drive home, instead of the gym, with that bag looking at me. After doing this for several months, now I look forward to my gym time...and rarely think of skipping it.

Good luck developing good habits!

^^^ This. If motivation was my fuel, I'd have burned out a LONG time ago looking at how far I have left on my journey. Trust in yourself and trust in the process that if you make the right choices, success is inevitable. One choice at a time, that's all you have to make - for me, that ONE choice in the morning to have cereal or a whole wheat muffin rather than going to a fast food drive-through snowballs throughout the day and makes for a "good" day rather than a "Damn, I should have done ______ instead" one

I finally wrangled my DH into joining the gym I go to - and we too stop there right after work. Some people say they make it an appointment on their calendar so they feel obligated to show up - or make it "your" time to go relax and destress, rather than "Damnit, it's time to work out." 70% of the challenge is even showing up, once you're there and in your gym clothes and staring at the outside of the building it's kinda pointless to turn around and go home You've done an AWESOME job so far, don't let all your hard work and effort go to waste!

Thanks y'all!!! I'm glad that I'm not the only one that is going through this. Last night I did just do it. I have these HITT videos. There's 4 different videos a 15 minute, a 20 minute, a 25 minute, and a 30 minute. I knew I would be dripping sweat after the 15 minute one and I knew I would complete it, so I did the 15 minute workout. It wasn't long, but it was something lol. Thanks for the support!

Good for you! Sometimes I think Nike has it right, "Just do it" is so much easier and less painful than thinking it through and often psyching yourself out LOL

Yes it is!!! I'm also in school full time and I work sometimes 30 hours a week and then I have to study so sometimes its like "do I really have time???" Sometimes life catches up with you, but I think that I'm 100%!!

Yikes, that's a lot on one plate! Nice job juggling it all You can definitely do this, if you can handle that much on a daily basis, you're not going to let a couple of calories get in your way!

Find things that you enjoy doing. For instance, I love going on nature walks and hiking, and playing tennis. Put me on a basketball court though, and it's a nightmare.

Find your groove, you'll get back into it

Just say "I'm going to do this for 10 minutes." Chances are 10 minutes will come and go and you'll keep working out!

Exercise is one of those things you just have to get addicted to in order to make a habit of it. I don't love or spend all day looking forward to exercising, but I feel uneasy if I don't do it. As a result, I do it almost daily.

Thanks krampus and lanyy! I really enjoy doing cardio I think what happened is that I just got burned out and needed a break...I'm DETERMINED to get back into it this week. Saturday and Sunday I did 2 hours of cardio...I have to do this for me and no one else...Thanks everyone!!!

Way to go on getting that workout in!

For me, the key has been having a workout buddy. My friend asked me to go to BodyPump with her about 1.5 years ago and I tried it out. Then we started going to classes together regularly and she would tease me a little if I didn't make it to a class. I started going a couple of times a week since I didn't want to get called a baby. Now it's more like six days a week and I have to show up because someone else is counting on me being there.
