Question Non-stop Hunger

What do you do on days with non-stop hunger? I've drank TONS of water, ate breakfast and lunch and fruit in between and I'm RAVENOUS! I even broke down and had a mini bag of m&m's that i shoveled in my mouth in 2 seconds! I hate this feeling Comes every once and a while and it's killing me!!!

Don't laugh but when I'm super hungry I drink a cup of coffee with some fat free half and half along with 3 Splenda. It works to curb hunger because the caffeine acts as an appetite supressant (Think I spelled that wrong). It really works!!

I agree, warm drinks especially coffee usually work for me. Even drinking coffee black.

Fruit makes you more hungry- eat something with protein or good fats like some almonds or celery with pb, etc.

I call those my hungry days. Sometimes I feel like I could eat the planet! Bulking up something that I really want usually works for me.

If I want yogurt, I put a sliced apple in it. If it's chocolate I want, I have a half cup of chocolate ice cream with a sliced banana mixed in. I make it a production, sit down and savor every bite, and have a nice cup of herbal tea with it.

I don't find fruit makes me hungrier, the fiber and natural sweetness helps me feel full.

I have found that the days when i feel the hungriest, are the days when i ate badly the day before. I am not sure why.

Totally understand. I try to munch on frozen grapes, celery with LC cheese and sometimes some saltine crackers- all low point things. But if none of that works, I just chug some water/tea with SF pink lemonade or lemon juice/splenda. Totally hate when that happens!

Mercury- hmm, bad as in over your points or the quality of food bad?

For me, I've noticed it's usually around TOM and/or because I didn't eat enough the day before.

Get some protein in for sure! the 100 cal fibre one bars also do the trick for me sometimes. Make sure its the 100 cal ones though, its a difference of 2 p+ or 4p+! Or I drink hot flavored teas, it helps curb my hunger most evenings.

Granola or honey roasted nuts with a diet soda always hits the spot for me!

High carb intake will make you more hungry because of the resulting insulin surge. If your body is really hungry, grab something high in protein with some fat even- try a few almonds or walnuts, for example.

You are having a lot of carbs without enough protein to offset them. Carbs do not satisfy for long and leave us wanting more. Have a HB egg, and apple and cheese, etc. for better hunger control.

Caffeine usually works for me so I will either have tea or a diet coke. If that doesn't work, I go for nuts.

Exactly what I was thinking! I have to do this periodically so I make sure to have almonds and such around - it really does help and I don't end up eating myself into a coma
