Default Hi everyone! Back to Phase 1

Hello!

I had some great success with Atkins, and moved through the Phases. Though I hadn't reached my goal, I was super happy with where I was. Fast forward 2 years and I want to finish off the goal. I can't wait to hit that goal!

I hope that I can find support with my fellow Atkins girls and really kick this weight to the curb for good!

Welcome back and good luck! Have you been maintaining on Atkins since then or did you transition back to higher carb eating? I'm just curious because maintenance sounds pretty scary.

Default stepping into the conversation

Hi all,
This is my first post on 3FC. I've been lurking for a while. I lost about 40 pounds last fall on Ideal Protein, and switched to Atkins after the holidays. The cost of IP was too much for me.
Thank you all for sharing your stories -- what works and what doesn't, your struggles and successes. It's so motivating.
I took your advice and got the Atkins Diet Revolution book last weekend. I've read most of it.
I need to chime in more here. The support and inspiration I've gotten from reading your posts is priceless.
Thanks again!

Maureen, all you can do is ask questions I myself read the book, but just ordered the newest one and it should be here any day... along with my new Calorie King book 2011. SO EXCITED

Linsy, I was eating low carb... my bread, only Dreamfields pasta (which was rare, I just don't crave pasta anymore). The biggest carb days I had were doing football season with beer. But say Sunday I had a bunch of beer, etc... I watched it the rest of the week. In this last 2 years I have fluctuated about 6 lbs either way, but never gained my weight back! WAHOOO!

Excited ... today is day two, and I feel great. I actually missed this!

Wow, that's amazing. Now you know that once you get to goal you already know how to maintain.

I honestly think I'd miss it too. I like eating right and then seeing the scale go down. We often have challenges on the board. Right now the Valentine's Day challenge is about to end but I hope you consider joining the next challenge. The more people the better!

Maintenance isn't as hard as you think. Plus, I quit craving pasta, fast food etc. I mean I had it once in a while. And it was nice eating potatoes here and there. But I ready to hit that goal weight. I bought jeans today that were 29 waist. That made my day. I have always carried my weight well, I have a lot of muscle, so even at my highest weight I was not a plus size- just an XL and like a 14/15 jean. Now I am in between an 8 and a 10... annoying. And in a size Medium shirt. I am hoping to stay there.

I am sorta craving sugar. That's about it. I had a gummy worm addiction for a bit, lol. But... it will be okay. Plus I am noticing how cold I am all the time. But ... that too goes away. I think since Monday I have already lost some weight ... but I won't weigh in until 2 weeks, minimum.
