Realizing a couple things...
So in trying to pin down why my binging is spiking lately I've realized a few things that are important to my maintenance program that are a little surprising to me. We are all aware of the common important parts of our plan - our calorie level, planning ahead, exercise, etc., etc.
But something that is really important to me is being excited about my food and when I get bored I start to stray and my binging tendancies increase. I need to change my foods almost monthy, but finding new recipies can be hard. I also need to be excited on a nutritional level, like knowing that certain foods are going to fuel my next workout or run. I am much more committed to my plan when I eat for sustanance.
It is also really important that I eat s.l.o.w.l.y. I mean literally take like an hour to eat my food so that my brain has time to register that I've eaten and am no longer hungry. This helps a lot with bordom eating at work.
So I'm curious what kinds of things that people wouldn't normally think of that are imperative to your maintenance success?
