Question T-Day... How'd You Do?

Well, Thanksgiving came and went in the states... how did you do? I DEFINETLY gobbled 'til I wobbled. It was not a good "diet day." Well... the sun will come out tomorrow! Peace. -Apryl

I ate everything I wanted to inlcuding the delicious gravy and deserts. Everyone makes different decisions about what they are going to do for a particular holiday/event and I knew I was going to enjoy the food on Thanksgiving. I took it very slow and can honestly say I enjoyed every bit of my dinner.

We have to learn not to beat ourselves up. This is real life.....we are going to eat more calories that necessary some days. As you say.....the sun will come out tomorrow...great attitude.

Omigod, I ate!

I had hot bacon spinach salad, duck and chestnut stuffing and for dessert, pumpkin cobbler. I had at least three ameretto sours and a glass of wine. But it was so good!

I don't regret a thing!

My tummy hurt...but I quickly got over it. Lots of raw veggies, so that was good.

I passed on the rolls, butter, gravy, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. I CONCENTRATED on the sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce, also had turkey, veggies. I was stuffed but then went on to have a 1/3 slice of pumpkin pie, a half slice of gingerbread and a 1/3 piece of birthday cake. More stuffed.

But I had a marvelous day and can't even begin to compare what I ate this year to what I have consumed on past Thanksgivings. So for that I'll still give me a half-hearted pat on the back.

i was pleasantly surprised. i did pretty well on thanksgiving. i had given myself permission to eat a bit of all that i wanted to and stuck to that. that way, i tried everything that looked good to me, but didn't feel deprived. well, hope everyone has a pleasant evening. take care.

I did very well. We were with family with lots of goodies (every minute of the day) from Wednesday until this afternoon. This minute someone's making choco chip cookies; the next, it's banana pudding. Donuts for breakfast. . . it was a carb feast from the moment we got there.

On the actual day, I got to have one meal of the yummy stuff and then just protein the rest. It worked fine.

I did well (sipping coffee for breakfast, while everyone else was having biscuits and gravy, for example) but resented every bite I didn't eat. I felt like a total martyr!

Several people commented, "It's a special time! Give yourself a break!" but I knew that my BODY doesn't know it's a holiday. It gains weight without any regard to the calendar.

Man, it was hard!

I did great. I had to watch what I was eating because I was feeding the same thing to my 8 month old. So no gravey on the potatoes. A pretty big piece of pumpkin pie and I ate most of it. But did share with the baby. I think all in all it was good. We will see tomorrow when I weigh in.

I did okay. I had turkey, potatoes (my mom makes boiled potatoes for Thanksgiving, though, so they don't have all the bad stuff like cream & butter that mashed potatoes do), a tiny bit of stuffing, only one half of a small roll, & some green bean casserole (YUM!). On the meal itself, I did fine... It was PIE TIME that screwed me! I had a slice of chocolate pecan & a slice of pumpkin cheesecake.

It was delicious though, & I don't feel a bit bad about it!!!

I ate and ate and ate. Which was just fine with me. Of course I am still eating, and that's not a good thing.
