I'm not the most experienced at makeup, especially for a special occasion. I'm trying to do a Christmas-y look. I kinda like this, I just wish I could make it more dramatic without it looking TOO much, which is exactly what happens when I try to do dramatic. Is this ok or should I try something else? I have light green eyeshadow on the lid of my eye, but you can't tell in this picture.
It's an evening event, and I'll be wearing a cocktail dress all jazzed up to look hideously Christmas sweater-like. I'll probably be wearing my hair down and flat-ironed or up in a curly 40's inspired 'do

You look absolutely beautiful! If you want to make it a bit more holiday-ish you might want to add some glitter to the top areas of your cheekbones. You could also use a brighter lip gloss but you really don't need it since you look awesome! Have a great time!
I don't wear makeup very often, so anytime I do I feel like it's a lot when in fact others would wonder if I had any on at all, lol. I think you look pretty in the pic you attached, but don't look like you have much of anything on. I like to use this pink-ish blush I have from MAC and then smudge a little on my eyelids. You could definitely do that with a redder blush. Also, I love the look of silver/grey eyeshadow just on the inside corners of the eye by the nose in addition to whatever other color used. It really opens the eyes and lends a bit of dressiness. The look you have is very fresh to me, so if that's what you're going for, stick with it. Either way, you are still pretty. =)
If you want to play up the drama with the eye a bit more, you could use a brown eyeshadow vs green. Brown would contrast with your blue eyes and really make them pop. (Since your skin is so porcelain, you might have to play around to find the a good shade of brown, you probably won't want to go too dark.)
looks great very natural. your cheeks, skin, and lips look lovely! a more dramatic eye is the thing u need to take this look into EVENING! i would stay away from any sparkly or green/red christmasy make up. you want to look effortlessly gorgeous, not like you’re wearing makeup bc ur at a holiday party.
If you’re wanting to glam it up for evening, add more eyeliner. use what you’ve used in this pic, but more: extend the eye liner on ur upper lash line all the way to the inner corners of ur eyes. also, use more on ur lower lash line, tracing a line from outer to inner corner--start with a thin line bc u can always add more. then take a thin brush, a q tip, or even your finger and smudge the line. you’ll get a great smokey look that will be a nice contrast to what looks like a cat eye on ur upper lash line.
If u have the time to experiment with your makeup, go all out and see what u come up with!!
I really like the way your eyeliner looks here, but I think I agree with those who said to make it a bit more dramatic for the party. Have a great time!
I do have issues with brown eyeshadow making me look dead, LOL.
I'm really confused about what to do. I had on what I thought was a LOT of makeup, but yeah, it kinda looks like I'm not wearing much. I got into the car to pick up my son and my eyes looked WAY overdone to me. I had to wipe some off.
I want a nice, dramatic eye, preferably something colorful, but I have no idea about how to do it without looking like a child playing in her mother's makeup! I've tried watching Youtube tutorials and trying those out and yikes... didn't end well.
I usually go without makeup or just mascara. The only makeup I use is powder, blush, mascara and eyeliner, maybe some eyeshadow, when I do wear a face-full, LOL. I usually wear glasses too, so I guess I'm just not used to seeing myself with a lot of eye makeup! I used to do my makeup every day, but for the past few years I only wear it on special occasions or someplace fancy. I'm way out of practice!

How funny you should say that!! I swear, for the first 23 years of my life I basically had NO eyebrows. They were so sparse that plucking them at all, even to "shape" them made them practically disappear. I was actually TEASED over it!!
I still only pluck a few stray hairs here and there, but I still have to use powder to darken them. They're VERY sparse. I'm lucky they're actually nicely shaped or I'd be in big trouble! Once, I tried to lower the arch in them. One swift move with the tweezers and I had 3 eyebrows, 2 on one side. XD They seemed to get a little bit thicker after I had my kids.

honestly, the way u did ur makeup is beautiful. and if u don’t wear makeup, what time of day did u pick up your son? if it was still daylight and you never wear makeup, i could def see why you thought it was too much. your makeup in the pick is beautiful, and it will be dramatic enough! main thing is to make sure you feel comfortable if u want more drama with minimal effort, do what u did but add a lip gloss with more color.
practice on your eyes! it’s not as hard as u think... number one rule with eye make up is blend blend blend!!! if it looks too dark, sweep a shimmery pink over the top of that brown. just play!
I think that your makeup is very pretty as it is. You don't need much at all because you are such a pretty girl. However, if you are going for a more evening glam look I would personally change it slightly. I think keep it light so you don't swamp your nice features. I would stick with a light shadow on the lid, possibly the one you have on - can't see it in the picture - or a shimmery champagne colour. Then add a brown (light as you are fair) shadow to the crease only to create more of a 3d effect. The liner is very nice the way you wear it. I would add more mascara, and possibly a couple of wispy falsies (singles or corner ones).
The other thing I would do to glam it up a notch is to define your eyebrows more. They have a lovely shape and frame your face nicely, but I would use a light colour to fill them in slightly.
Play up the bits you feel comfortable with. It's important to remember to not go TOO far away from your comfort zone, or you will feel self concious at your party. Maybe you are comfortable with a stronger lip, but not too much on the eyes? Maybe vice versa?
Experiment and have fun
You have such beautiful eyes. I would go for a dramatic eye makeup.
I heard some makeup consultant explain if you accentuate your eyes , lips should be a little less dramatic and vice versa.I might use a little glitter somewhere.
