Default Post-workout problems (TMI alert!)

Does anyone else have problems with spotting, or bleeding, after a workout? From time to time I do, and I don't know why. And if you do, do you know what causes it?

Just wondering...

Here is an article I found.

Does it happen only after very strenous workouts? You may be putting too much stress on your body. Also, are you eating sufficiently?

The first thing I would do if I were you is make sure I wasn't pregnant. After that, if you have an Ob-gyn you see regularly you can call and ask to speak to a nurse and ask them about the bleeding. If they think its something serious they may have the doctor call you...you might not even have to go in.

I thought it was maybe after a strenuous workout, but really it just kinda happens sometimes. I'm eating 1,850-1,900 calories a day, counting the things I tend not to count. Burning, according to my HRM, about 450-550 cals per workout session for 2,100-2,400 a week.

I have found that I tend to spot after walking or jogging and lifting but I think it is because of my IUD.

If you aren't experiencing any other symptoms (and are certain you aren't pg), then I would track it on a calendar against your cycle to see if there is a pattern. For example, does it typically happen post-ovulation? Or is it more frequent the week before you are due? These things could definitely help if you decide to make an appt with your obgyn. There are several things that can cause spotting, so the more info you go in with, the better.

Good luck! I hope you find the cause & a simple soluton.

I was just going to post about this! It happened to me too. I read up about it and articles said that it is a change in hormone levels from working out or... during ovulation 10 days after your period it can happen. If it continues for longer than 24 hours see a doctor though b/c it can be scary serious.

This has happened to me recently. Past month I have had spotting after exercising and also when I ovulated. My period also has been super light this time around. Not sure if it's from the weight loss or what. I know I am not pregnant. I went to the ob/gyn for my yearly check up earlier this week, and my doctor told me that I shouldn't worry about it, that its not uncommon for this to happen. So I'm not going to fret much anymore. But still need my test results back before letting it go completely. But it is awful annoying.
