Default Hello everyone!

Hello! I just wanted to introduce myself! First time posting on these boards.

I am 5'7" and currently 383 pounds. I am 27 years old. I've been overweight since I can remember. Back in 2002 I had my 1st child and my weight jumped up to around 385 pounds. After I had him... I went on the Atkins diet and got down to 180 pounds in about a year and a half. Then I went out, ate a McChicken and gained it all back and some! In January of this year, I couldn't be weighed on my scale that went up to 440 pounds. I am now weighing at 383 pounds. This time I am counting calories. I am struggling with getting motivated to exercise.

Anyway, that's my story and I just wanted to say hello to everyone!

Oh, and I'm getting married in 4 months and I want to lose as much weight as possible before then! (I don't want to be out of breath walking down the aisle)

Hello there! I'm new myself!! (I love your nic!! lol) I'm currently 328 and have yo-yo'd thru the years myself. I'm staring with regular ol' calorie counting and exercise... I just need to stay consistent and REALLY need to open myself up to others and accept/ask for support, which I never did in the past. I tried to do it myself and hide it. Welcome! And hopefully we can be support buddies!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

I'm from WA (originally from IA so totally a "corn-fed girl.") LOL I can't say I hate exercise, but I always find excuses NOT to do it... even cleaning the house... UGH! lol But I don't like people watching me so that's an issue. I hate having "forbidden" food, so I don't. Also, do you guys have "black and white thinking" like me? Like, let's say you are doing great all day and have an unexpected treat, so you say to yourself "Well, blew that!" So, you quit the whole thing and vow to start again "Monday?" Yeah... that's me. I need to quit doing that and jump back on track and forgive myself for the oopsies. Seems those who lose and keep it off do that!

Thanks Ohio! I am from Massachusetts.

It does suck having forbidden food. I just try to find a healthier version. If I'm craving ice cream or something, I'll get frozen yogurt, etc.

Definitely forgive yourself for the oopsies! Once a week I usually get a cheat meal, usually on a Saturday night. (we call it fat day, haha) I don't go overboard or anything and I still try to be good, but I think that's how I keep from cheating multiple times. Some weeks I skip it, so I'd say about twice a month I have the "fat meal" hahah

Default morning!

Welcome! I am relatively new too, so we should all keep each other going.I am 28. I am calorie counting as well. In a few weeks I will be starting an exercise program. I have just weaned myself off of 2 crutches to 1 and will be getting my cast off this afternoon! What type of exercise are you ladies doing?

Congrats on the upcoming wedding. I was married a few years ago and I remember my wedding. I fell on my butt! I am glad I can smile at that now, I was so embarrassed for months after that! I am sure you won't do that thought!

Hello and Welcome! Do exercise that you love to do, so it will become a habit. Once started with exercise, it makes you feel good and want to continue.. You can do it!! Much luck with your efforts!!

I'm pretty new too.
So welcome from one newbie to the others.

I was counting calories but it was driving me nuts so now I low carb and I have lost 3 pounds each week since.
