Default My NSV yesterday.....

It may not seem like much, but for me it was a victory! I made a batch of chili yesterday because my husband wanted some. I told him I'd make it for him, but I wouldn't be having any because I didn't know the calories. Well, I decied to figure them out because I used canned beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce and then a powder chili mix. Plus the chili meat. I estimated how many calories 1 cup of chili would be and I over estimated just in case.

I ate exactly 1 cup, ate it slowly and enjoyed it! Then I stopped!!! I would normally keep having bowls until I was beyond stuffed and I would heap it with shredded cheese, sour cream and onions. I could have put onions last night but I didn't feel like chopping them- lol. If I wasn't near my calorie limit I would have measured out a serving of cheese. The bowl I ate was yummy the way it was and next time I make chili I will make plans to have calories available for the cheese.

I love counting calories because I always know exactly where I stand and I have to take the time to decide what I am going to eat. I have my first weigh in on Wednesday and I can't wait to see the loss this week.

Good for you! I never thought I'd be one of those people that measure everything I eat, but now I do! It's amazing to see how much food we can eat!

Wonderful! I know how big of an accomplishment that is!

I have been figuring out calories that way as well with recipes (it can be hard cooking for a hubby or family, can't it?)... and then I overestimate as well.

The real accomplishment though, is that you stopped at one bowl. WAY TO GO!!

That's awesome! It gets easier, I promise. Soon the pounds are dropping away and you are in awe and wonder!

You did great!
