Default Food and a cut-off time

I usually don't eat anything after 9pm, but I find its pretty hard on me since my schedule is not really normal. I don't go to bed until 4ish am since thats when my boyfriend and I usually have our time together, I watch my grandpa during the day. Its so hard because I don't leave my house until around 11:30pm and once I get there its HIS time to eat dinner...lol. So there I am, feeling hungry simply because I see him stuffing his face Haha.

Do you think it would be alright if I did eat later? As long as I make sure to wait a few hours before I sleep? I just don't like sleeping with a full stomach.

7-8hours of nothing to eat sucks...lol.

What time do you get up in the morning? My husband used to work midnights and I had a wacked out sleep schedule. I just moved all my meals to correlate to the time I was awake. I think you'd be fine to eat a bit later as long as it didn't cause you to eat more overall.

I think Val has a good point there. Maybe you can adjust you meals so that you can have a snack or two in between or just have half of your dinner and then the rest of it later. good luck!

I agree with the other ladies - I don't think it matters if you eat later as long as you're eating more.

From what I understand, eating later wont affect your weight loss efforts because your body metabolizes the same whether you're asleep or awake. I often eat right before bed or just an hour or so before bed... helps me not to late-night-snack. But yeah, I think if you eat later you should be fine!

I personally don't think there is a particular time to stop eating - but I do believe that you shouldn't eat anything within 2 hours of going to bed. If you eat at 9 PM that's fine as long as you don't sleep until 11 PM

Thank you everyone,

I wake up around 10-11am usually. Oh I like that idea, to split my dinner, I might try that tonight.

I split my dinner all the time. Or I'll have a smaller breakfast and two medium size dinners. Honestly, i feel like you have to make things work for you. 7-8 hours without food would make me grouchy and irritated, not happy to head to bed. Save enough for at least a snack!
