Default Having a hard time accepting weight loss

I obsessively weighed myself today... probably more than five times, because the scale said I lost 3 lbs, and I guess I'm somewhat afraid to accept that. I feel if I accept it then it will fluctuate back to my original weight. Does anyone else ever feel this way?

Oh yes! You'll believe it after it continues. A good plan lasts. Day after day, week after week.

I need my graph at fitday.com! If I ever feel like I'm going to be this weight forever ... I just go back to my graph and see that, yes there is a general trend downward.

Yes - if the scales haven't gone down and I feel they should of I weigh myself obsessively because that can't be right. If I lose a few lb I do the same expecting my weight to go up 7lb. THis is why I use my mum's scales and haven't bought any. I don't expect my weight to be my highest, only ever expect the scales to go back up by 7lb or so.

I try very hard to only weigh myself once a week. The same day of the week as the week before, and the same time of day. I also remind myself that to actually gain weight (and not just retain water, etc.) requires 3500 extra calories per pound. And given how I'm trying - and succeeding, for the most part - to eat healthfully, it's unlikely that I'd consume an extra 3500 cals or 7000 cals or whatever the extra poundage equals. The scales are not magic, nor are they sneaky I agree that keeping track of your weight in some sort of chart is a really good idea, because then you can watch your progress. It also might help to try to focus on other benefits of losing weight, and not just the number on the scale - how you feel, how you look, how your clothes fit, etc.
