Default swimsuit/hat help please!
okay- so i've ordered my swimsuit for my trip in april... PLEASE let it get here on time and fit me and/or have enough time for an exchange


now... i need a hat. now i know it might not be the most stylish thing but i dont like tanning... at all. my arms are a completely different shade than my legs because i wear pants so often

so, i need a beach hat. i want something big and floppy but my problem now is color... i'm wearing (hopefully) a white one piece (i know... should i just order a black one? its my skin tone i want it to look best with...)

theres are reds which i might like.. might be bolder... but do i WANT to be bold? i like the white one, its sweet i think. they have ... pretty much all sorts of colors- i'm just so unsure as to what would look the best, i'm already going to be nervous about wearing a swimsuit in front of these gorgeous (and skinny) girls

oh- the swimsuit i hope to have is this


in white... unless you think i should reorder in a different color

I think the swimsuit you chose is perfect, and I bet it looks great in white! It's got a really flattering cut that looks like it can emphasize your best parts and hide any tiny flaws.

I would definitely go with the white hat. I think it's the cutest of the bunch! Also, if you end up wearing the hat elsewhere, white goes with everything.

You'll look awesome in April!

Agreed on the white suit with the white hat. Especially because you could always throw some colour in there by way of a beach wrap, sari, or cover up, or fabulous accessories! Marilyn, watch out!

yay! i'm glad my taste isnt completely off

the swimsuit is from esther-williams.com its the sheath in white. they have lots of different patterns but no pictures of them erm... wth? the website is... depressing really i would never have bought it based on those pictures/info but i found out its the same swimsuit i'd seen with actual pictures of the different angles etc on different websites

the pictures they have there are just - not good. but that picture is from modcloth, where they renamed the swimsuit the 'bathing beauty' i also found it on various retro/rockabilly boutiques and found out that the swimsuit is from, guess where? esther williams. so i was like hmmm go to the source. so i did, and not only is it cheaper, i could actually buy it (most other shops sold out and i would have to wait on restock)

psshh i have got red lipstick woman! i am obsessed with retro looks i just am so afraid i cant pull them off so i dont wear things like that often, but i've got the pin up style make up complete with lipstick!

i could never look like marilyn but i figure with my dark features i could eventually go for a bettie page =D

I really like the white hat, but I would be worried to get it dirty around the water/sand/etc. So, I would probably go with a different color. Since you chose a white suit, you could really pick any color hat and it would work. I like the idea of red, though as you said that might be bold. You could always go for a light pink to be girly or a yellow since it's summery.
BTW, I totally feel you on staying out of the sun - I burn easily too. =/
