Default Can't believe that I have actually lost this much!

I am new here and wanted to share my great weigh-in news. First, a little background. I am a 33 year old mother of three children under the age of 7. I have been overweight pretty much my entire life. I have weighed right around 218 pounds much of my adult life. I did of course gain about 30 pounds per pregnancy but it always came off and I went right back to about 218. I have dabbled in dieting and exercise but never ever really committed to a life change. About forty days ago, I committed to a life change. A week or so after I started, I mentioned to my boyfriend that I was really serious about making a change. That day he picked up a book for me called "The Eat-Clean Diet" by Tosca Reno. I have been basically following her recommended eating habits and exercising anywhere from 20 minutes to 40 minutes a day. My cravings for sugar are gone! I have stopped eating sugar, salt, butter, and soda! I never would have thought I could give up those things but I have and I'm not suffering for it.
So, my big surprise came today when my new scale came in the mail. I had an old scale, not digital, the "old" kind and I just wasn't confident that it was right. Well, after stepping on the new scale and checking three times and then checking my kids weight...I have lost 16 pounds!!!! I can't believe it! I don't feel like it has been so bad and I really believe that this time is the time. I believe that I will never be hangin' out with ol' pal 218 again. I know that I am supposed to only be losing about 1-2 pounds a week and I have no idea how I lost so much in 40 days. I am guessing that a good portion of it is water weight but I am still really happy about it.
Thanks for letting me share! I just wanted to share somewhere where people could really understand the excitement I'm feeling right now.

The changes you have made are going to benefit you for the rest of your life! The weight loss will probably slow down significantly, but just keep up the good work and eventually, you'll reach your goals. I have heard great things about that book. Huge congrats to you!!!! Thanks for sharing.
