Hi! I've been lurking around here for a couple of days, and figured it was about time for me to jump in and introduce myself.

I won't say that I'm happy to be here (seeing as how if I didn't have all this weight to lose, I wouldn't be )... but I am happy to have found what seems to be a great place to find support, and I look forward to getting to know you all better!

My name is Angie (as you can see from my entirely unoriginal username), I'm 30 and live in New Brunswick, Canada. I've been married for 10 years to my best friend and total hottie (if I do say so myself) husband, Jeff. We have three boys: Josh is 7, Asher is 4 and Corban is 21 months.

I'm a stay-at-home mom and homeschooler. I also do professional family/wedding photography part-time.

I need to lose almost 60lbs. I guess that doesn't seem like a whole lot, but an extra 60lbs crammed onto my 5'0" self is way too much. I also have PCOS to further complicate my utter lack of will power and love of carbs *sigh*

oh, and I guess I talk a lot. Sorry

Thanks so much for your concern! I generally don't concern myself too much with internet privacy because my full name is part of my business name (photography) and by extension my phone#, etc etc... that said, after reading around a bit it seems you all get a bit more than usual spam around here than on the other online places I frequent. Because of that, I'd already wondered if I'd be able to change my username. I'm not worried about crazy stalkers, but if I can manage to avoid telemarketers I'll do just about anything LOL

Would MakingSkinny be available for a username change? Thanks so much!

I'm sure you have your hands full with those adorable little ones, homeschooling and a job, whew! - the support you need is here to achieve your goal of a healthier you - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. Try the 30 somethings and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful. There's also forum for those with the challenge of PCOS - also the Success stories are a must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
