Smile New Chubby Girl here

Hello everyone!
Just want to say what an inspiration all of the threads, pictures, and progress reports have been.
I am starting my journey towards weight loss with a group of ladies I work with the first of the year. I am ready to change my life, and prepare my body for childbirth. My husband & I are wanting to start trying to have children the summer of 2010 & I need to lose weight in order not to have a high risk pregnancy.
My goal is to lose over time 100 pounds, but am shooting for 50lbs by June before I go on vacation to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

I am doing a weight watchers type of diet & joining a gym.

Wish me luck...I can't wait to have a before & after photo

Hi Rachel!
Sounds like you're ready to get started with a good plan and determination - I'm sure you'll achieve your goal of a healthier you to start your family - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

Happy Holidays!

Let me give you a huge piece of advice. Take it one meal at a time and don't let the big picture overwhelm you. I know that in the past for myself, I'd think about the total I'd want to lose and the minute I screwed up or maybe had 1 or 2 days of eating bad I'd say "oh well, what's the use" and just go back to my old ways.

It's never too late to make changes and each meal and each day is a new chance to get it right. If I can lose weight (and I've lost 60 lbs so far) then anybody can do it because rest assured I was the Queen of D'Nile.

Welcome! I'm pretty new here myself. Besides wanting to improve my general health as well, I am also trying to lose weight so I can get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy. Everyone here is very supportive and I am sure you will fit right in.
