RED TEAM - Week 8 Exercise Challenge, "It's Ok to Focus on Me"
Here we are on Week 8. Everyone is doing a great job!
Mandey (ArmyWife02) was created a badge for us to use as a reward for anyone who completes the challenge. So everyone who signs up for and completes Week 8's challenge will receive a special badge to place in their signature.
So on to the challenge. Being the completely unimaginative person that I am, this is probably going to look a bit familiar to you...........I like to constantly build on what I'm already doing, so we are going to incorporate what we've done so far, and just add something extra.
Exercise Minutes: Originally I set a minimum od 140 minutes (20 minutes a day). Along with that I'm going to set a maximum of 420 minutes (60 minutes a day). Now this doesn't mean that you can't set a goal or exercise more than 420 minutes, but once you reach that maximum you do not have to add the additional 10% to be eligible for the challenge. For example, if you had 400 minutes last week, an extra 10% would put you at 440, but with the maximum, you would still be following the challenge if you set your goal at 420. Of course you can shoot for higher if you want, but it isn't required. If that makes you go let me know and I'll try to do a better job explaining it.
Trouble Spots: Once again I want you to pick at least one trouble spot to work on 3 times this week with strength training. It is best to have a day of rest between each strength training workout, so don't leave it to the end of the week.
"It's Okay to Focus on Me": Do something special for yourself this week. It doesn't matter what it is, just so that it makes you feel special. Now I don't want anyone pigging out (does that really make us feel special? make me feel like a cow usually), but other than that you can take your pick. Just remember to come back and tell us about it.
Focus on Me: I bought a car radio transmitter for my iPod. I'm really picky about the music I like to listen to, and it is hard for me to find an acceptable radio station, and now I won't have to.

Monday- 25 minute walk to and from school, 30 minutes yoga
Tuesday- 25 minute walk to and from school, 60 minutes at the gym
Wednesday- 25 minute walk to and from school, 30 minutes strength training on arms
Thursday- 25 minute walk to and from school, 60 minutes at the gym
Friday- 25 minute walk to and from school
Saturday- 100 minutes at the gym with personal trainer
Sunday- Day off
Total - 405/ 400
Not sure if I can count it, but I did teach a total of 45 minutes yoga (8) times this week.
Focus on Me: I've got a clean house, all my laundry done, and my focus on me for this week, is actually my reward for the month...i'm going to go tomorrow and get my massage.
Week 7 Goal - 0 minutes... was very sick so had to forgo this week of exercise Week 8 Goal - 140 minutes .. starting back at minumum as I am still just getting back to the swing of things Trouble Spot - Chest

Monday- 0 min Tuesday- walked stone mountain (about 50 min), 80 min gym (added lat pull and seated row to my routine) Wednesday- 0 min, aweful headache Thursday 0 min Friday- Out of Town 0 min Saturday- Out of Town 0 min Sunday- Out of Town walked aprx. 3 miles, about 60 min Total - 180 /300
Focus on Me: picked out some Christmas presents for myself in Nashville
Monday - 40 min ST'ing, 28 min 30 DS
Tuesday - 48 min run
Wednesday - 28 min run
Thursday - 38 min run, 45 min ST'ing, 28 min 30DS
Friday - Planned rest day
Saturday - 50 min run, 45 min ST'ing
Sunday - 47 min run
Total - 397 / 371 Goal Met and exceeded!!
Focus on Me: Went and got a new haircut and a few new pairs of pants on Wednesday. So nice!

Monday-50 mins- 11 min mile 39 min strength training Tuesday-45 mins-25 elliptical 20 min bike Wednesday-90 min walk Thursday-15 min walk- got wisdom teeth pulled Friday-day off- sore very sore Saturday-still really sore ear ache coming Sunday-woke up with a swollen uvula it is awful and hurts Total - 200/180 met my goal Focus on Me: i bought me a scarf! and new decor for my house =)

Monday - none (wasn't home much due to a dr appt, shopping for the BL game, and dinner out)
Tuesday - 53 minutes Wii Fit Plus games/aerobics. 30 overhead swings/squads with a 5# dumbbell (don't know what else to call them); 5 sets of 10 reps - per arm - 5# arm curls while on the ball; 3 sets of 10 reps - crunches on the ball with 5# dumbbell; 30 jumping jacks. 61 minute total
Wednesday - walked to the school and community center (45 minutes - 2 miles); Chest Press machine (30#, 2 sets, 12 reps); Bicep Curl machine (10#, 2 sets, 20 reps). 47 minute total
Thursday - none....but will try to make up lost time over the weekend.
Friday - none....too tired after the ordeal yesterday. going to bed early and hope to get great workouts this weekend.
Saturday - walked the track while kids played (1 mile, 23 minutes); Wii Fit Plus (81 minutes - 1100 calorie burn, includes 10 min hula hoop, 10 min boxing, and 10 min jogging). 104 minute total

Total - 212 / 210
