Default Jeans--I got the fever!

So I went to Macy's today and tried on a bunch of stuff, including an awesome pair of jeans, similar to this:

http://tinyurl.com/yzttqkt

They felt good. They looked good. No. They looked AWESOME. They made my butt look good. No. They made my butt look AWESOME. But they are expensive, and I'm still in losing mode. I think I could probably wear them for a good 10 pounds or so, so that would be about....2 months.

I may be able to dig up a coupon someplace and get a little knocked off the price. I don't know why I'm asking you guys about it, because I think I am probably going to go back and get those jeans, even though it's a totally unwise decision, financially.

Oh. And I tried on a sweater dress that was SO GREAT, except it was made for someone a little shorter than me. Damn these long legs. If it had been 3 inches longer, I'd have bought it.

I bought clothes along the way! Looking prettier and prettier is very, VERY motivating to me! As long as you aren't investing hundreds in a new wardrobe, I see nothing wrong with buying a couple of pieces on your way down.

YAHOO! Way to work it girl! Be sure to post pics if you can!

Oh, you guys are such enablers! LOL. I found a 20% off coupon which makes them simply "spendy" instead of "horrifically expensive", so I think I'll go get them tomorrow. I can't wait!

I will post pictures, but only if they really make me look as fabulous as I imagine that they will!

I'm excited for the goal wardrobe, too. I have had to buy work clothes along the way because....well, because my employer frowns on people showing up nekkid, mostly. But I hate the feel of big baggy pants so I have had to buy (cheap) work pants along the way. And I've been allowing myself a (cheap) new pair of jeans when my current ones start getting too big. When I say cheap, I mean like $20 pants. So this will be a little splurge!

I guess I'm an enabler too! Go get those jeans and when they get too big have them altered. Enjoy!

Also, may I suggest a pair of leggings under the sweater dress that was too short? It's in style and it may be that the dress was made to go over leggings anyway--that's this years trend and it looks great on gals with long legs (byw--as a short girl I'm jealous!). Pair it all with some cute flats and you are set!

Yeah, I think you'd be less jealous after you got tired of being taller than about 80% of all men! And yeah, the leggings are a good idea but I still think it's a little short. I've been wanting a skirt or dress to wear tights with, though....so maybe I can find something similar. Hmmmmmm. You ARE an enabler, aren't you!?? ;-)

Oh, I hear you on the sweater dress. I want one very badly, but every last one I've tried on has been way too short. My legs have actually held up pretty well, I tend to wear my skirts on the short side, and lycra tights hide a multitude of sins anyway, but there's a bit short, and there's showing the world your business.

You should buy the jeans.

Count me in as an enabler-- I'm all in favor of buying clothes that make you look & feel great while you on your journey!

Those jeans are very nice -- casual *or* dressy and it looks like they will be very flattering!

I agree. It's really good to have fun with clothes while one is losing.

I bought a couple pair of really nice dress slacks before I started dieting or just after. They are now pretty loose. They still look ok but I figure that by December or so they will be too loose. So I got them drycleaned the other day so I can wear them again, figuring I should wear them while I can.

I have a pair of jeans that was too tight before and now they are saggy and don't stay up so well. (the dress slacks are more fitted so they're a bit easier to wear now than those jeans are) I'm going to be ditching them soon.

Go get them and show us a picture of you in them! You deserve to feel good and have earned it.

Heh, last night I was thinking about the jeans again and then realized that they're the type that can probably be altered when they get too big. They don't have a ton of thick, complicated seams like a lot of jeans do. THEN I started thinking....maybe I should just wait till I can fit into the 10's? But nah....that's at least a couple of months away. If I can wear 10's at Christmas, then I'll get a new pair for the holidays but for now, I'm getting the 12's! (I can't believe I can wear a size 12 in jeans. That blows me away).
