Default 300+ Weekly Thread #1233

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support, inspiration, and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.

We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time.

Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

Morning everyone! I wrote a big long post last night and the computer monsters ate it. I am really struggling at the moment with anxiety/OCD because they are changing my meds and right now I am getting off the old ones. I am restless with anxious energy. I slept about 4 hours last night. Also ended up snacking a bit last night. Frustrated and just feeling down and anxious.

How is everyone else?

Morning ladies...

Well..my weight is totally up, but I'm STILL on TOM, so I'm thinking that a portion of it is the bloat and water retention. I usually gain about 4-8 pounds during that time, then I start to shed it the week I'm over it. I feel like I've gained weight though, but I'm not going to step on the scale until this next weekend. I figure focus on the exercise and meal balance, that is enough of my focus.

Waking up this morning...a bit restless myself. Gotta get to the store and buy veggies veggies veggies...going to plan my meals for this week in just a bit. Gotta work on this and that, an annoying meeting on Weds coming up...oy.

I hope everyone is well! *HUGS*

Pinkflamino: I have never been on that craft site..but it is book marked and ready for me eyes later on! Sorry your OCD/anxiety is getting the best of you right now ;(

Jacquie: My TOM is heading right for me! I can tell!! Probably just as I go back to work! What a great thing to look forward to NOT!!

AS for me: I have been 2 days without percosets!! YEAH!! I am sooo glad! I am taking tylenol though..and that is because of my neck pains. I am a stomach sleeper and since I have not been able to sleep on my stomach, I have to sleep on my back..hence neck cramps.

I put on a bra yeesterday and went to get groceries and to joanns. At first it was a little sore..but got better.

I go to the endocrinologist today for follow up. See if she has to adjust my meds again or not.

Today..going to work on making halloween decorations. We are going to have a little party here ..lets hope its cool enough for a fire!

Hello ladies! Hope everyone's week is off to a great start! I'm at school kiiling some time before my next class. Gotta a big midterm to take but pretty confident with the material. What I'm really nervous about is, of course, weigh-in at the Y today! lol. I've slacked this week. Well, mainly the past 4 days. Very little exercise. My food choices have been good in general, but I had two nights this week where I consumed too much food, too late in the evening. So, even though it was HEALTHY food, that worries me. I need some fresh motivation this week. I really wanted to push myself and I did not. Hopefully the scale is forgiving.*fingers crossed* I'll report in later!

I'm going to a Zumba class at the Y tonight! They just started it this week... VERY excited about that... Maybe that will be my fresh motivation.

Good Morning ladies...well as you can see by my ticker i gained about 5 lbs last week from not doing enough exercise and making poor food choices but today is a fresh start for me..i got on the scale and weighed myself and that is what is on the ticker and since im starting fresh today i am changing my weigh-in days from fridays to mondays and today i got in a 45 circuit training workout and im back on track with my eating..had a good time last week with company that came in from out of town and last weekend going out of town but now the company is gone and i wont be going out of town again for another 2 months so it is time for me to concentrate on losing weight and finding a job!

So, even though i am up 5 lbs i am happy today because i had a great workout this morning and im back on track!

have a great day ladies
Heather

HippieMama - good luck on your midterm! have fun in Zumba

Jacquie - Good on you for the veggies! What are your favourites? I love peppers!

Cyn - I am glad the pain is better. And Halloween party sounds fun!

Hippiemama - My Y offers zumba too, but I have been too nervous to go to any of the classes! I'm self-conscious and I also have a tendency to faint when I push myself too hard. It would be embarrassing if I passed out in the middle of the class! Let me know how it goes!

heather - Maybe some of the weight is water weight? It seems rather excessive to gain that much in one week! xoxo sorry to hear about the gain, I know that hurts!!!

lost - Sorry to hear about your DH! Anxiety is a *****.

Well, I am very very disappointed in myself today. I am usually a good student, but one assignment worth 30% of my grade is now 4 days late (I am losing 5% a day). I was supposed to go to school this morning to hand it in, but I ended up sleeping until 1. I just ignored it when my alarm went off. So now it is another day late. I also missed all my classes today after promising my friend/minister I would make a fresh start this week and go to all my classes. I feel really guilty and my anxiety is through the roof. Disappointed in myself, because today was going to be a fresh start. I keep telling myself ***take responsibility, not blame*** and trying to look at a way to fix this instead of condemning myself.

I also have not been doing very well food-wise. I have not had a good day since last week. I have barely been out of the house (I am borderline agoraphobic). VERY VERY anxious and disappointed in myself.

I want to cry and scream and eat an entire carton of ice cream.

PinkFlamingo, I am so very sorry - I remember at time, a few years ago when I went through that........ if you give in and let it take control it will escalate, first I wouldn't leave house, then I wouldn't leave my room - eventually I ended up staying in my closet for almost 2 weeks, just hiding in there..... life is hard, but what's out here is better...... we're hear to listen to you

PinkFlamingo ~ I know how tough it can be to keep motivated through school! I had a really horrible semester last Spring and I am working hard to turn it around now.Keep remembering that pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow!

Weighed in today and I am down another 3 lbs. I was pretty happy with that considering my slacking off the last half of the week... REALLY want to work hard this week and maybe get my total up towards 25lb. (19 total now for me) And I can officially say goodbye to 300+ lbs. forever! (If all goes well) Bummed bc my babysitter for tonight (Zumba) and her girls have the flu. Not sure if I'm going to be able to find a replacement. I'm working on it though.... I'm ready to shake my arse. lol.

I have been dealing with the Canadian tax people and a bank today. I so need some chocolate right now. I just hope I gave them a bigger headache than they have given me.

Hello ladies! Sorry I've been MIA. Been busy. I've read up on everyone, but I don't have time for personals this evening. I'll be back in the swing of things tomorrow, though!

Today marked day 15 of the 30 Day Shred; halfway there!

Also, I officially made my first mini goal of 350 lbs. That's -30 lbs, and it's also the weight that I originally started at when I joined this site. So now, I've lost the additional weight that I gained when I went off track. I still have a long way to go, but it made me so thrilled. And it hit it exactly, as my scale weighed in at 350.0 My next mini goal is to lose 20 more pounds, to make a nice -50.
