Default Allergic to eggs, needing breakfast ideas

I'm looking for some easy breakfast ideas, recipes, etc...that do not include eggs. I'm allergic to them and I'm finding it a little hard to come up with something that makes me "feel" like I am eating breakfast. I've eaten chicken for breakfast, bacon, sausage, cheese, salmon wrapped in lettuce leaves, (but that wasn't "filling" enough). I'm hoping for some other suggestions, something other than meat, but of course, not eggs.
I've been doing a lot of research about the atkins diet, and am getting a menu together and have cut down drastically on refined carbs. I think I'll have more issues saying no to fruit, especially apples, this time of year, but I know I'll be able to have them again some day.
I've looked on the recipe sites, but haven't thoroughly looked through all posts, so I'll go back and browse around some more and maybe find something. I'll be starting Phase I tomorrow. I'm actually looking forward to it. .....sigh.......remind me I said that.

There is a good blog on diet cookbooks that I find very nice to have.I have been doing this for a while and it has helped me and my family keep a healthy diet. Think you will like it too..Its at ***************** Hope I can help...Thanks

Is egg substitute an option? I don't know if its recommended on Atkins or not -- or whether you're also allergic to substitutes.

A Vegan restaurant near me called "Aux Vivres" makes "Tofu Scramble", crumbled tofu with tumeric so it's yellow! Plus other spices

Those are good ideas. I can't hold down egg substitutes either. I had crappy raw broccoli, celery sticks for breakfast. I am going to re-read his book (it has a lot of recipes) and see what I can come up with, plus, I'm wondering if there's anything else other than cheese sticks for a snack.
What do you have for a snack? ....I guess I should really read through some posts and the book again before asking and I'll have a better idea.

Thank you Jerseygirl. I was reading one of your posts and went to a link you provided. I've printed some recipes, and am getting better ideas. Thanks again. ....Noticed you're a Steelers fan! I moved from Pittsburgh to Columbus over a year ago and I still (and always will) cheer for the Steelers, plus, at the hockey games here, I'll wear a Blue jackets sweatshirt but CHEER on the Penguins! People just laugh.

I wanted to let everyone know, if you check out netrition.com , find the "low carb" link and check out some products, you can check out the nutrion value, and even read product reviews which I think is really helpful. It seems to have some great products for low carb life style, from almond flour, organic coconut flour and even breakfast cereals at a very low carb count, plus high in fiber. Might be something you want to check out.

I agree, Netrition is a great site. That being said, I steer clear of low carb "products"....or "frankenfoods" as they are referred to by low carb folks. Dr. Atkins always preached staying away from processed foods and sticking to whole foods and for me, I've found it to work best. Unfortunately, after his untimely demise....Atkins Nutritionals Inc. has taken over and is marketing those Atkins bars & shakes to the hilt. Those are, as Dr. Atkins referred to them "convenience foods" that should be used for emergencies when no other low carb foods are available. They are not & were never created to be an everyday staple of the Atkins lifestyle.

I have been trying to steer clear of processed foods, even before I started this 100% (today), I've cut back on the refined white foods, etc. I went on that site to find soy flour that is called for in some of the recipes. I didn't order anything, but they had some organic almond flour, ground almonds, and a few other ingredients, but "assuming" organic means exactly what it says, rather it should mean it's all organic. I know it's not, a lot of the times what I would think organic means. I don't nessecarily buy organic, but for some special recipe I would.
When I do get past the first couple of phases, for emergencies, when I'm running late and having to get to the barn, I'll grab a low carb convenience food.
I brought into work this morning, a bag of stale tortillas, a loaf of italian bread (that is thawing out), and old stale crackers. I decided I'll feed the birds here, all of the carbs that I need to pitch anyhow. They're happy ... cold weather is coming around and they'll be well fed.

I was stumped with what to suggest since eggs are off limits for you, but your mention of almond flour sparked an idea -- I think there are several low carb recipes out there for flourless cakes and muffins that use almond flour as the base that could work for you. I've only made one (and it wasn't so great) and I think it had egg as an ingredient, but maybe some of the low carb recipe sites recommended by others would have this kind of thing?

One thing I've noticed is that I eat much less for breakfast now (several months into low carb eating). I do have tea with cream in the morning (usually decaf tea, but not always) and I think the fat in the cream satiates me and its not unusual for me to not get hungry until lunchtime. Generally I only do this on days that I work from home (because finding appropriate low carb stuff midmorning is a nightmare for me at the office or on the road) but when I can listen to my hunger I find I'm much less hungry in the mornings than I used to be.

Some of my favorite breakfasts are grilled boneless porkchop + pumpkin mashed with a little butter & heavy cream OR chicken sausage + mashed pumpkin. I put a drizzle of SF maple syrup over all.

You can eat leftovers for breakfast too. Also, check out things like Mockafoni & Cheese over on Linda Sue's recipe site.

Not sure what phase of Atkins you are in so I'm just recommending Induction-friendly things.
