Question SouthBeach to Atkins

I have done SB P1 lost 9 pounds and switched to P2 (for a week) and gained 2 pounds
I crossed over to Atkins this Monday.
I hate to weigh myself everyday and I know it's only been 3 days but I feel like I've gained.
I know that SB and Atkins are slightly different and having to cross over from one day to next, do you think I'll gain back the 9 pounds?
Can anyone share an experience, feedback or opion on this?

This is my own personal opinion but if you read Dr. Atkins book (I think its the 2002 version) and follow it correctly, you will not gain it back..

Good luck !!!

Thank you Leenie, I have the 2002 book, and read it page for page many years ago. This time around was just thumbing through it, getting down the basics, but you are right, I will read it again. Thanks.

Leenie is correct, reading the book is critical to do this plan correctly. Read the book BEFORE you attempt to do Atkins so you understand & appreciate exactly how & why this works!

I switched over from South Beach to Atkins almost two months ago. Although I think SBD is an excellent plan, it was just too many carbs for me. Anyways, I've had good and consistent weight loss since I switched.

It is critical that you read and become familiar with the Induction rules to get the most benefit from Atkins. Doing a clean Induction is very important. Find the pages with the food lists and just eat that stuff. And get your exercise in too. It is that simple. (I am using DANDR 2002.)

Some things I noticed when changing: remember that Atkins is NOT low fat so make sure you are getting enough fats...this is important. Using FitDay (or some other tracker) can help you with getting the proper amounts of fats/protein/carbs. Also, I didn't have much on an Induction "flu" as my SBD was pretty reasonable carb-wise and was mostly whole foods.

Good luck and feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks everyone for all your help, you know last night I went to my pilates class and felt a little crampish feeling on my calves and I remember the book saying that was one of the side effects.
I will read the book cover to cover.
Thank you all again.
