Default So Good to be Here!!!

Hey guys!

I'm so glad I found this site and this will be my very first post. Like many of you I am struggling to overcome certain addictions. I won't mention all my drugs of choice but sugar, cheese and bread are my major nemeses. Food is the cure for boredom, anxiety and anger to name a very few. I don't blame myself, other people or circumstances for the place that my life is in right now. The only time is now and I plan to make the most of it. The only problem is that I don't know where or how to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Apart from the whole food thing I confess I am a more or less happy individual with a mostly positive outlook. I hope to make friends on this site and to be a friend. Please feel free to ask me to pray for you or with you. It would be a privellage!

Default welcome!

Hi welcome to the site! i have the very same problem as you. I eat when iam bored, happy, sad, and mad! although iam trying to change that it is hard to overcome but you just have to try your best and if you fall into the cycle again dont beat yourself up just get back on track. when i lost a lot of weight two years ago i did this...i went to the gym when i felt mad or bored. it helped work out my anger and gave me something to do...now i wouldnt suggest you go to the gym more then twice a day because ive done that and it isnt good! and all you have to do to start is start eating better...do things in smal steps so it wont be so overwhelming! maybe a week after that or so make yourself do something physical! good luck and here for u if u need support!

Hi Fabulous!

Welcome to the site. I'm 22, 230lb, and also just joined and am looking forward to meeting people for support and to be supportive of-- and I have found that there is no shortage of that here. My vices are the "big three" fast food chains-- who shall remain unnamed. I am trying to quit them like a bad habit because that's exactly what they are. But it's going to be hard for me, because I also use the food as a cure for boredom and anxiety, I crave it often and I'm a weakling! Welcome again.. you will find many in the same boat as you.. feel free to post.. these are all of the things I have been told and now just passing them along to you.

I have got so many ideas and so much inspiration from this site. Good luck!
