Default Huge NSV for me!

I NEEDED a NSV! If you've read any of my recent threads you'll know that the scale just isn't moving for me lately... at least something is going in the right direction .

For the last few weeks I've been doing the 30 day shred and on alternate days teaching my son how to ride his bike. That basically involves me giving him a little push and sprinting after him until he falls . It's a good workout though!

On to the NSV! I outlasted my 5 year old! I have never met a kid with more energy and I left him in my DUST today LOL. We were in Sequioa National Park and took the little hike down to the General Sherman tree (the biggest tree in the world, may I add). It's about 1/2 mile down... a pretty steep decline with stairs etc. On the way up my DS challenged me to a race . Everyone was huffing and puffing and looking at us like we were nuts but we bounded up that trail! Near the end he stopped and shouted "MOMMY, YOU WIN!! You're killing me!" I couldn't let him lose so I pretended to lose my momentum so that he could hobble across the finish line first.

But at the end I wasn't even THAT winded and my muscles felt great!

My DH was quite a ways behind us with the baby in a backpack on his back so he just laughed at us...

But I'm sooo psyched about how strong I'm becoming. It's such an awesome feeling!

Oh man! That's great! I had a (not quite so energetic) moment like that last week. I took my grandma to the Dunes (beaches and parks around the lakes we have her in the Midwest) last week and in 90 degree weather I didn't get at all winded from carrying the heavy packs and umbrellas and everything on the long walk to the beach, then later walking up and down the beach didn't even phase me or make me feel even vaguely uncomfortable!

It's such an awesome feeling isn't it?!
