Default stupid thing

Note to self...

never pick up a large box of your favorite cookie when you are feeling blue!!!

I can usually have just one ...
I think this time I may have left just one.

Nancy, were you planning to eat just one when you bought them? That never works out for me. I just have to say "no" at the store and not even bring them in the house.

You're pretty close to your goal weight. Are you having trouble with motivation? You seem to be in a pattern when I look back over your posts. I remember feeling that my weight wasn't that big of a problem and there were more important things to worry about. All reasons to eat what I wanted and not to have to "diet". I really had to have the proper mindset and be ready to do this to have success with SB. Here's hoping you get back OP and have success.

Wash them down with some low-fat milk, pat yourself on the hand and get right back on track.

Nancy, it's very easy to find an excuse to bring those home. Here are some quotes from maintainers that really get me through:

"Right now I'm just sad, but if I eat ____, then I'll be pudgy and sad." (in other words, cookies ain't gonna fix the problem!)

"Lack of food didn't cause this, and eating isn't going to fix it."

"If you want it, you'll find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse."

If you aren't "wanting it" (to lose weight and be healthier) lately, ask yourself why. Do some journaling. Talk with a counselor or trusted friend, or post here about it. But think about why and how you can avoid running to the cookies in the future. Some of us have to take different routes to avoid passing certain restaurants, avoid having cash in our wallet so we can't buy snacks, and stick to the perimeter of the grocery store so we don't end up in the cookie aisle. Find a way, hon. You're so close to goal!

In the meantime, hop back on Phase 1 to get rid of the cravings so it'll be easier to move forward.

A pattern for me is that if I am down about my family relationships I
eat bad. Usually that just means one small amount of something.
If I am going to cave to that I need to be sure it is one serving,
and not a whole bag.

murphpitch & beachgal

Major motivation problem. I did maintain during a vacation where it took
a lot of will power. I am sad & stressed and pretending not to be and eating because of it.

I am trying to join a gym and I am joining a ladies hiking group.

Thanks for the support.

Please I think most of us understand completely. Honestly if weight was purely about food and calories there probably wouldn't be any fat people. I think many of us fluffies tend to turn to food for comfort when family (job, coworkers, life in general) gets annoying.

I am finding some little mantras DO help here. I have a little rhyme that is sticks with me when I am having a stressful or sad moment;
"I am tired of being fat,
slender and healthy is where its at."
Our painful moments will pass better when we take personal responsibility and choose not to eat over them.

I hope you feel better soon.

This is some great advice - especially as I start SBD AGAIN!! I'm so good for a week, then as soon as I have one slip, I fall off the wagon. One problem I have though, is I don't eat because I'm sad/happy/emotional... I eat because I love the taste of food!! Sometimes I feel like a monster that just can't shovel enough food in quick enough... I'm hoping these little sayings can help me stop doing that!

The good news is that despite some slip ups I am still at the same weight I was (139) before my vacation and my pig out day.

That is encouraging that I can get back on track without too much
damage done.

I blew it this weekend too. A few baked chips, a piece of cake and two glasses of wine. Was up 1.5...working hard to slip back down. I am starting p2 this week so I am pretty nervous. Last time I did this I put the P1 weight back on.

Trying not to fall off the wagon this week....
