Default New & Determined to be Improved!

Hi everyone!

I've been lurking around the 300+ club board for a week or more and wanted to introduce myself. But first, I just have to say a big THANK YOU for sharing your personal stories, your incredible accomplishments as well as your struggles. Your stories/pictures have given me hope for the road ahead.

My name is Annette, I'm 34 (not sure when that happen LOL), a divorced mom of two wonderful boys. I have struggled/been overweight my entire life. It hit me about a month ago, that I always talked about exercising, watching what I eat, etc but have stopped and started more than I can remember but I always thought I had more time to get "healthy", more time to be active, etc....and here I am, still overweight and my oldest son is 10 now, and I'm teaching my children extremely poor behaviors when it comes to food.

So in the last week, I have made small changes, like drinking 100 oz. of water daily, eating breakfast every day, cut out all but 1 soda a day (I'm a Mountain Dew addict), less snacking, eating more protein, and walking a mile each day. I am veggie/fruit challenged but I know that I have to have an open-mind to be successful in the long run.

I look forward to getting to know others here!!

First you ROCK and welcome.

I hope to see you more around. I'm 31 and went "how the **** did that happen?" just the other day.

Amazing how time flies...

Well I'm meat and dairy challenged and avoid those at all costs...haha i can barely make it down the cheese aisle in the supermarket. I'm a veggiehead though.

Welcome and

I gave up Mountain Dew the first time I went on Atkins in 1999. I had been a total addict, like 6+ cans a day. Hardest thing I ever did, harder than quitting smoking in fact. It took about 2 weeks to detox, with the shakes, headaches, crabby, etc. But it was SO WORTH IT. I can't even look at the stuff now. Mountain Dew is evil in a can! LOL Welcome, best of luck to you on your journey!
