Default Bummed!!

I just had my second week weigh in. I gained 4 ounces. I know that seems like nothing, but I was really hoping to lose. I did go to Applebees last night and had a salad and a little bit of Spinach Artichoke dip. I am trying to blame my weight gain in sodium. The first week I lost 8.6, so I am still down 8.2 pounds in 2 weeks which my leader says is GREAT and I need to concentrate on that positive. I am trying to! I did only work out 4 days this week which I guess could contribute as well. I stayed within my points all week and actually went under my points a couple times because I couldn't find the time to eat (finals week). Other than that, the only time I used flex points was last night & I didn't even use all of them.... I am just bummed! Sorry to vent... but has anyone else had a slight gain and then turned around to a nice loss the following week?

You'll find that the number on the scale sometimes go up when it should go down, and will give you a reprieve at times you should have gained. Your leader is right in that you'll have to stay focused on the positive, which is that you've lost 8.2 pounds in 2 weeks time. Sodium does indeed play a part in a temporary weight gain, and I personally try to drink extra water to keep it flushed out. Keep your chin up, and I bet next week will show another loss.

Thank you Jane. I didn't mean to vent and act negative. I did great today and I am looking forward to the week ahead of me

I was up half a pound this week The night before, I had quite a high salt meal plus I didn't work out as much as I had in prior weeks. I did however, have a week where I lost 3lbs. The leader is right, drink as much water as you can to flush out the sodium. I don't think everyone loses in the same way - stay positive and hopefully for both us we'll have a great week!

Hey there! Week 1 usually = big loss. Week 2, not so much. Your body is figuring out what the heck is going on. Just stay with the program. Give yourself 8 weeks of serious point counting, and then make your conclusions.

You are doing amazing! Keep it up and let us know...

When I started, I lost 4.2 my first week, then gained a pound my second week! I, too, was quite bummed since I had been staying in my points! My third week though, I was down another 4.4!! Lots of water, little salt, and I always wear the same thing when I weigh in. I was even this week... but no loss is better than a gain! Hang in there!

I know it stinks. I lost 4.4 the first week and then a pound the next 4 weeks. Today was WI and I am up 2.2.

I understand why though. a few days ago, I told myself it was easier to be fat so I quit WW and just ate whatever I wanted. Last night, it hit me that I really didn't want to quit at all and that eating like I was was not making me happy.

So I dragged myself to WW this morning, knowing full well what I would see. It is a little scary to see that I could go up so fast.

Hang in there, this was never meant to be easy, at least not in my opinion.

Sometimes there will be weeks where you will have slight gains, but the next week you will lose, you will see!

I went through a similar thing last week (gained 0.8), and this week I was down 1.6. Don't worry! We all have fluctuations. Just keep at it, and it will come off

In my first week I lost 4.0 lbs, then in my second I only lost .4lbs. I think it's just a pattern. You'll settle into a rhythm soon!
