If someone has symptoms of Hirsutism, does that usually mean they have PCOS? I looked up the other symptoms and I don't think I really have them, I get my period about the same time every month, I'm not naturally depressed, when I get my eating and exercise under control I can get to a healthy weight but not a very skinny weight. I do have thinner hair on my head..no bald spots, but it's thin/fine enough stylist will comment it's very fine. I have oily skin, but I haven't had any severe acne since my teens. I do get breakouts from the facial hair though..

I've always had a problem with the facial and body hair, I remember being teased about it back 8th grade. Could I just be a more hairy person or is their always an underlying medical cause for excess hair to growth on women?

If anyone is on birth control pills or spironolactone for the facial hair, have you had good success with it?

or has anyone had success with laser to remove the hair, and has it grown back?

I'm getting tired of trying to keep up with it with the waxing and epilator... besides my extra weight it's something that bothers me and I'm self conscious about... is there any hope to get rid of it or atleast make grow in more finer/less?

There are many, many causes of hirsutism or otherwise heavier hair - including no disease, just normal variation. PCOS is most definitely not the only one.

It could very well be PCOS, but like Julie said, it's not definite. There are some girls in my support group with it, and they wax.
