Default Stationary Bike Workout, Please Help

Hello All!

So, I broke my ankle at the end of Feb and I am now allowed to start exercising a little again. Gosh, it feels like it has been FOREVER! Before I broke my ankle, I was on the rugby team and quite active, but now I have lost a lot of muscle in my quad and calf and Im sure I am not in as good of cardiovascular shape anymore. I am very limited in what I can do right now. I am going to PT 2x a week and working on streching and stregthening. I can barely walk right now, so cardio wise, my only workout option is the stationary bike. I have never really done much on a stationary bike and was wondering if you guys have any good workout routines for a beginner. At PT I do 10 min at a comfortable pace (not too slow, but not speedy gonzalez either). That doesnt seem very difficult. Any ideas or advice?

I know near me you could 'try out' a local gym for free for a couple of days - maybe do that, attend their cycle classes and get some good ideas from a real instructor

As long as your PT says its ok, you can try doing HIIT (high intensity interval training) on the bike.
Here is an explanation of HIIT

You could also do upper body weights.
