Default Question about gas

I had a baby March 7th by C-section and have had stomach problems ever since basically I have gas all the time and have developed lactose problems. I was wondering if anyone knows if Atkins would make gas worse or help. I have a lot of weight to lose I'm 450 and my Dr said Atkins would be ok.
Thanks for any help!

Congrats on your new baby!

I have irritable bowel syndrome, and I have been on Atkins for the last three days. I have not had any symptoms, so far, no gas, trots, constipation, etc. I think it is better for me to have the low carb thing going and I have never felt better, except I cannot sleep tonight for reasons unknown! I do take papaya supplements after I eat a meal that I know would typically give me gas, but you have to count the carbs in the supplements. I get them at Wal-Mart.

Best of luck to you in your weight loss - you can do this!

Congratulations on your new baby!

I have been following Atkins since November, but before that I had terrible indigestion, etc. No more! I can say without hesitation that it has helped in this area. Of course we are all different and what works for me, might not work for you...still there is a good chance that it will help with this.

Best of Luck!

I had Gastric Bypass 6 years ago and am extremely lactose intolerant. To watch my carbs and my weight I pretty much follow Atkins all the time. The cheese, cream, and butter play havoc with my stomach when I use too much of them.
