Default Jelly belly alert

i went shopping today for a wedding outfit and bought a beautiful dress ,but oh my did i get a shock when i went into the fitting room (i usually just try clothes at home and return them becos they don't suit) so my first experience of a full length mirror in quite a few years was horrendous, staring back from the mirror was a frumpy little woman in her underware, a jellybelly, big thighs, saggy bumand boobs is not a pretty site. so i decided to buy a full length mirror and i will persevere until the image in the mirror matches the image in my mind, today i saw what everyone esle sees when they look at me and it weren't a pretty site so now as well as fat burning exercises i am adding firming and toning exercises like ab crunch and weight trainning so watch this space( photos will follow soon, as soon as i learn how to post them)

I know what you mean, Ann. Much of the time, I still feel like a girl in her 20's but when I look in the mirror, there is a middle-aged, lumpy lady looking back at me!

Sometimes a smack in the face with reality is what we need to get moving and make changes. Just remember to also be kind and patient with yourself as you start forward on this journey. Best of luck to you!

Ann, those mirrors are evil! I don't think that anyone looks good in them. I would suggest a shaper (Spanx or Maidenform makes a couple) of some sort. Shapers can hide a multitude of sins. My girlfriends and I swear by them!

Default jelly belly

My jelly belly arrived with the birth of my DD. Then my hysterectomy really finished the job. I had the surgery in September, and my abdomen is still distended from the air that got in from being open on the operating table for seven hours. Supposedly it goes down eventually, but not even my "fat" clothes fit. I've lost 10 pounds, and so far I don't see a change. I guess I just have to keep on working hard and be patient in the meantime. Pink

I have one too I'm worried the only way I'll be able to get rid of it is a tummy tuck.

Jelly belly is why I stopped going to stores to try on clothes. Those mirrors are just too discouraging. I may not look thinner on any given day, but if I lose a lb I feel like queen of the world. No way would I risk getting down and depressed by letting the reality of a store mirror intrude. IMO, it's more important to stay positive.
