Default Frozen treats/ Sandwich ideas

Hello everyone! I would like to know what are the best low calorie frozen treats beside sugar free popsicles?

I am also wondering if you have any ideas for low fat, low cal sandwich ideas? I have down the no fat mayo chicken salad with celery and the no fat mayo ham salad with pickles.

Thank you!

Default cholestrol recipe

If you have more than twenty pounds to lose
If you have quite a bit of weight to lose, consider setting an interim goal that feels less overwhelming. For example, you might start by resolving to lose ten percent of your weight.
No matter how overweight you may be, losing just 5 to 10% of your body weight can dramatically reduce the health problems associated with being overweight. And this initial success can motivate you to set the next goal...and the next.

Hmmm ice cream...

Smart one ice cream sundays
Skinny cow ice cream is good
Cool whip (I eat it frozen and it's a mock ice cream)
Take two graham crackers (perferable chocolate) and fill with thawed cool whip. Then wrap it in foil and refreeze, it comes out like an ice cream sandwitch.

Skinny Cow makes a whole line of really great frozen treats like ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cones, fudge bars etc etc. I really can't even tell them apart from regular ice cream and they are great for when you want something decadent but don't want to "cheat".

as for sandwiches, i've also made lower fat/cal egg salad by using only 1 yolk for every 4 whites and nonfat mayo. I also use Arnold brand "lite" bread, which is 80 calories for every two slices. Fat free cheese by Kraft or SmartBeat are pretty good for sandwiches as is using hummus instead of mayo to add flavour to even an all raw veg sandwich!

another sandwich i do is grilled chicken breast sliced on the diagonal, roquette, artichoke hearts, raw red onion, nonfat mayo and fresh ground pepper on lite bread.

I've been eating a lot of sandwiches with hummus on them lately. It's good with sliced chicken or sliced turkey. Or, if you want to get some extra vegetables on it like spinach, cucumbers, ect. I also make similar sandwiches with cream cheese, and those are good with jam on them too.

Frozen grapes. I second the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. The only ones I liked were mint however. I also love to chop up a bunch of strawberries, almonds, and add a little whipped cream (mine is homemade in my magic bullet with splenda and vanilla, so I don't know how lowfat that is). I guess you could replace the whipped cream with ice cream. I make homemade smoothies all the time with ice, half a banana, blackberries, strawberries, and a splash of orange juice. The Magic Bullet is a must if you don't already own one. Scrambled eggs and omelets are so much easier and less messy.

As far as sandwiches go, I am on a big pita kick. I use a half a pita shell, 80 cal, 0 fat, 3 or 4 grams of fiber, 16 carbs. I throw in some 1/3 less fat Philadelphia cream cheese, halve some grape tomatoes, slice some cucumbers real thin, some green bell pepper slices, and some Prima Della Golden Roasted turkey from the Wal-Mart deli section (it is the best turkey in my opinion -- not slimy at all). This is also where I get the pita shells. It is so low cal it's not even funny.

mariamherrera - I have tons of turkey bacon and I NEVER thought of adding it to a sandwich! I love turkey clubs.

I try and stay away from light breads. I love Arnold breads. Most of them have 90-120 calories per slice in them and they're so good. I use to buy just store bread wheat bread and never realized what I was missing. It seemed like a square of brown....stuff compared to whole grain, yummy bread.

But I'll eat 4 slices of turkey, 2 slices of cheese (the store kind I get is 70 cals for two small slices), 2-3 slices of avocado and some light mayo. I'll also eat it with red peppers and pepper jack cheese. It's delish! If you want something different then your regular grilled cheese, try these: Sprinkle part-skim mozzarella on a slice of bread and add 2 slices of tomato. Take 4 slices turkey, 1 slice cheese, and about 5tbsp salsa and grill that. You can also just do the cheese and marinara sauce. Grill some veggies (zucchini, mushrooms, onion), take whole wheat bread and spread it with a little vegetable garden cream cheese, top with a slice of tomato, the grilled veggies and a slice of pepper jack cheese. Yum!

I second frozen grapes! And frozen bananas, but you have to go easy on those since they're more calorie-dense.

One of my favorite sandwiches in high school was a wedge of light Laughing Cow spread on Ezekiel bread, topped with a diced spring onion, a sliced hard-boiled egg and sprouts (should be circa 250 calories total). I also used to stuff grilled chicken breast mixed with light Miracle Whip and spinach in a whole wheat pita.

I concur about the skinny cow - I'm hooked on the 50 calorie fudgecicles! And I got this idea off of someone here - frozen yoplait yogurt! I stick mine in the freezer and eat it with a grapefruit spoon - delicious and lasts so much longer than regular yogurt. Thanks 3FC to whoever (whomever?) gave me the idea!

I eat whole grain english muffins with a wedge of LC swiss for breakfast on occasion. It's so good and low-cal (155 calories).

And I agree. I eat frozen grapes and frozen blueberries. The blueberries are good to add to cereal, too! I'm going to try the frozen yogurt. A lot of ladies have been recommending it recently!
