I was wondering if anyone knows of any natural skin care product lines.
I was just looking at the moisturizer that I use and there are so many chemicals in there---it can't be good for you.
So besides putting lard on my face, what could I use that's "natural"- i.e., not a bunch of chemicals.
I tend to have the oily T zone (forehead, nose, chin)
and my nose is always red
J/K of course, but that's my favorite. No parabans, no GMOs. I was just talking about this in a skin care thread in the 20-somethings. I always thought I had really sensitive skin... and I did... when I put harsh chemicals on it. My skin issues seemed to disappear when I started using this line. I first discovered them in Nashville through my roommate at the time who worked at a spa. Ironically, the company is based in Boulder, CO where I used to work and ended up working with the company. I have seen the factory and the garden (!) with my own eyes and can vouch for their legitimacy.

I'm thinking combo, since I have oily areas, but dry areas (with wrinkles-44 yrs old).
I use burts bees products (www.burtsbees.com). It's all natural, smells delicious, doesnt mess with my sensitive skin, and is relatively inexpensive compared to other face products. And I can buy it in the grocery store here!
There's a new line of products that my sister and I both like. There are different formulas: Yes-To-Carrots (Normal--I think), Yes-To-Tomatoes (Oily/Combo), and Yes-To-Cucumbers (Dry/Sensitive.) I've only seen it at Walgreens and it's fairly inexpensive.
I was surprised at how well I liked it, given the price point. I use the cucumber and my sister uses the carrot.
I get psoriasis on my face sometimes and have to be careful what I use, thus using a lot of kitchen products - honey, olive oil, oatmeal, baking soda. I find that these items don't cause my skin to flare up when it is bad. Otherwise, I tend to mostly use Burt's Bees products, and Cetaphil face wash (even though Cetaphil has chemicals in it, I find it agrees quite well with my skin). I use plain olive oil to remove eye make up, and sometimes use it to clean the rest of my face too especially in the winter time when it is so dry out. Occasionally, I use witch hazel as a toner in the summer time. For a facial scrub, I mix in a small shake of baking soda with either Cetaphil or BB Orange facial wash. For facials, I will use honey alone, or mix honey in with some chopped up oatmeal, or sit and massage with olive oil a good ten minutes. As well, I use a clay lavender masque from Escents (www.escents.com - I order their stuff online - great products). For moisturizing, I usually use BB milk & honey body moisturizer, and sometimes use plain old olive oil when really dry. The price on all these products is extremely low in comparison to most facial care lines - especially the kitchen goods!
I personally use Kiss My Face Pure Olive Oil bar for washing and I use coconut oil for moisturizing. I am EXTREMELY oily but with the coconut oil my face realizes it doesn't need to produce oil by the bucket full.
I use sunscreen for my daily moisturizer. Plain old moisturizers don't have enough SPF protection, and it's recommended to use sunscreen daily, even on those cloudy, winter days. After I wash my face I use Skinceuticals 15 AOX (Vitamin C and ferulic acid) followed by Neutrogena Ultra Sheer 80 SPF.
Evening moisturizer I use something for combination skin.
The skinceuticals is expensive, but it lasts a long time and is worth every drop.
Sorry, I know it's probably not what you're looking for, but I wanted to throw my 2 cents in.
I really like the Be Fine products made from food-grade ingredients. I figure if I'm trying to eat a whole foods diet I shouldn't be putting chemicals on my skin. It is available at a lot of department stores/pharmacies (see store locator) and online.
I also like a lot of the Burt's Bees products (lip balm, shampoo, etc.)
I use Burts Bees and my skin has never looked better. I used to suffer from blackheads and my skin looked washed out. The products cleared up my skin and they are relatively inexpensive compared to what I was using. I have tried every product out there and these are by far the best. For a body cream I really like Oragnix coconut body lotion. I am really liking that so many places are carrying these fantastic products.
