Default I have messed up royally!!!!!

I am not even posting my weight cause I didn't get it from my center when I weighed in this morning. I know I gained weight. I have been having a really hard time dealing w/ everything right and I totally slipped and feel off the wagon last night. I ate everything I knew not too. I feel bloated and terrible. But I talked w/ them at my center and I am going to get back on track tomorrow!!!!! This time I am going to take it in small goals. Instead of focusing on the total amount of weight I want to lose, I am going to make small goals and celebrate them w/out food. But I admit that I have gotten a lot out of this website and I thank everyone for that!!!!!!

"IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME" that is what I tell myself so many times a day! You can do it!

I screwed up yesterday and today, too. I have a horrible cold/flu thing and my throat is burning up and I have infections in both ears. I have been drinking milkshakes from McD's and drinking chicken broth for two days because that is all I can eat without it hurting. I tried doing HNS choc pudding yesterday, but it was not cold enough to not be painful to eat.

This might help you....Cold/Flu and dairy products do not mix. Stay away from them while they taste good going down in the long run they will make you feel worse (dairy creates mucus wich will stuff you up) try staying to broth like soups

For me, if I thought about the total amount I had to lose, I would have had difficulty just thinking about 100 lbs! I found it easier to take it 5 lbs at a time. My mental goals would be things like signing the next board, getting out of the 200's, 190's or things like that. If I looked at the "big picture" it was just way too overwhelming. So see if you can focus on some particular small goals as was suggested. It really seemed to work for me.

good for you for coming here instead of slinking off somewhere to eat a bag of cookies. lol.
thats what i usually do.
im in the middle of reading an interesting book right now- Breaking the Food Seduction: The Hidden Reasons Behind Food Cravings---And 7 Steps to End Them Naturally by Neal D. Barnard
it also explains why 'slipping' is not about willpower, as much as it is a physical demand due to the addictive qualities of certain foods. im finding his arguments very compelling.
so don't be so hard on yourself. its not that you are weak, as much as it is that our bodies are STRONG demanders.
good luck! you will get there.

You might want to make a smoothie with them & the milkshake - throw them in the blender together! That way the protein will help balance the sugar in the shake (or if you have any plain whey protein powder or egg white, that'd be a lot cheaper & serve the same purpose). There are smoothie recipes in the recipe thread here too, but they might not be cold enough for you.

In the end though, when we're sick we just do the best we can. Feel better soon!
