Unhappy I failed for tonight.

and I'm really disappointed. after 4 days of staying within 1200 calories, I had 2,594 tonight. ick. and I didn't even realize it was that many until I put it all in my fitday calorie log... I feel really discouraged, but i know tomorrow is a chance to start over.. I knew when I figured out I was going to my mom's tonight that this would happen... I need to start controlling myself against her junk-food oriented house, since mine is pretty much junk free it was that much more tempting...plus I didn't get a lunch break at work so I was just flat out hungry and over did it. sigh...I'm so disappointed.

Seriously, you didnt do sooooo bad. Calculating your calories you, average out to 1400 calories a day. NOT bad at all. Just don't do a repeat performance.

Besides, this is a learning experience for you. You know what you did tonight that put you in the situation. For example, skipping lunch. Next time, you will know to eat snack or something before heading to Mom's.

And don't be dissappointed. You are doing so well; don't deny yourself that satisfaction of accomplishment!!

Don't be too upset! One day definitely wont hurt you. Only if you ate like, 3500 extra calories hehe. In fact it may not hurt you at all, if you go by calorie cycling standards. That would just be your up day. Now you can go back down, and maybe it will even help you to have changed up your intake a little.

When I go off plan, I always remember what it felt like, the disappointment and everything. It sometimes helps to think of that when I wanna stray again.

1200 is way too low for a day to day level. if you can eat 2500+ without noticing that just proves your not eating enough during the week. up it to 1500 at least. cos at 1200 you can't go any lower without failing to get enough nutrients to exist

I second slimmingsi--your body was probably telling you it had been deprived. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Hey don't sweat it. I had a bad, bad weekend and blew my diet beyond belief. I was so disheartened and down on myself that it just made me feel worse. The member here are so right, you just have to shrug it off and keep on trucking.

The only thing that I am concerned with is your caloric intake. You seem to be really limiting yourself on the calories. Are you sure you are eating enough of the right things? Your body and brain need a certain amount of calories/fats/carbohydrates to function right. I have to agree with slimmings on this one, you should try to up it to at least 1500.

That is just my two cents. Don't be to hard on yourself and remember that tomomrow is another day.

Thanks for sharing your frustration! This proves to me yet again what a great thing this forum really is! I had a rough Saturday night due some excess alcohol, those calories add up fast! I have also been on plan with my calorie goals for quite a few weeks and was beating myself up. I was very disappointed that I was so counter productive to my goals!

And thanks everyone for your words of encouragement! Today is a new day, my weight loss isn't 'broken', and I am able to use this experience as a road map for what not to do on a Saturday night to make sure I stay on track, lol.

I was bad last night too, my mom asked me to pick her up some chips, like a little bag, so i'm at walmart and looking for single serving bags of chips, THEY DONT HAVE THEM. So I get her a regular size bag, and I was like.. k i'm not going to get chips for myself, and I LOVE ketchup chips. so instead I was good and I got beef jerky instead, but then i got reese cups too.. I failed. lol
