Default Endometriosis?

I've been having sharp pains for several months now, even went to the hospital (but they couldn't diagnose me).... finally went to see my obgyn, he believes I might have endometriosis and is talking about more testing... I've already had two cysts he's removed, and in the past have had many cysts that they've taken or "froze"? whatever they did...

well, the subject of a hysterectomy has come up but I'm not sure I want to do that, there's a reason we have these organs.... not sure the ramifications.

Also, I read most people who have them GAIN weight...

Any thoughts about others with PCOS? Have you had one? etc...

I have endo. and its no fun!! I was in horrible pain for months before they figured out what it was. They put me on BC pills and I took them nonstop for 3 months and then like normal. I stayed on them and the pain was gone until i had to go off them because of high blood pressure. I didnt really gain weight on them. I have pain that comes and goes..my dr supects its on my other organs and i may end up having to do something about it.I am in my mid 40s so im trying to hold out for nature to stop TOM on its own.
Good luck...by the way how old are you?? I would consider surgery i wasnt in my mid 40s already. Surely this cant go on much longer!!
I have read about a procedure called ablazation(sp). Its basically a buring of the inside of the uterus( done with a hot water balloon and is done in the drs office) and bleeding stops which should stop endo. from growing. GOOD LUCK!!!

I also have endometriosis and I have had the procedure Ablazation. It worked for a little bit but all my symptems came back. The doctor talked to me about a hysterectomy and I decided to do that. It's the best thing I ever did. I had him leave my ovaries in so I wouldnt have to be on hormone pills for the rest of my life. I have two kids and wasnt planning on having anymore. I havent had any pains anymore and not having tom is great! I havent gained any weight from having this done. I am actually loosing weight, but I guess everyone is different on how your body adjust to it. It's a lot to think about but it was worth it for me not to be in pain anymore.. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me. I was out of work for 4 weeks after the surgery but the doctor cut me open so he could see everything and make sure nothing elese was wrong. There are different ways they do the surgery. Some people they dont even cut you.
