Default The Weekend - May 11 and 12

MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND!

Just a quick check-in before I start a day from ****! Have a Church Wardens' meeting at 8 followed immediately by a 9:30 "workshop" that will run until 4! This being community minded really sucks - especially on a beautiful May Saturday when I want to garden! I sure hope I am earning stars in my crown today!

Lucy did fine at Obedience Training yesterday - there is hope. She has also finally decided that getting into the car without a boost in the butt is possible - she can jump from the floor to the kitchen table but the car thing was a challenge.

Sorry to post and run but I need to leave in 1/2 hour and am not yet showered and dressed. Also need to make a lunch as the "lunch provided" will be sandwiches and butter tarts, no doubt. STAY STRONG, Ruthie. Actually, I may go for a walk at noon instead of hanging out - so what if they think I'm anti-social!

Have a good day, chickies - have some fun for me! - your choice of activity!

I could trade you Ryth, wanna do the birthday party? LOL NO WAY! I can't wait to have a lot of fun! Miree has been just to excited and hard to settle down but now that the day is here she can't wait for her friend to come over. I have a billion things to do before she gets here so I'm just posting quickly to say hello and enjoy the day!

Morning Ruth! Morning Pooky!! Morning all to come!!

I am feeling a tad bit, well, ummmmm over-processed today! I went for the annual permanent wave yesterday and my hair, I would describe it as "interesting" I can see it now, I go to the big kid's baseball game today and sit infront of some nice parental unit and they tap me on the shoulder and kindly say, "excuse me? Big Kid's mom? would you mind removing your hair?"

I won't even go into the color! How was I suppose to know you are suppose to wait 5 days after a perm before you color!

oh well! this is Jersey, and I have got BIG hair, big whoop!

Cold and crisp here today! I have some plants to dig in...I am going for the over-all woodland garden look...kind of like my.....

hair

enjoy your day, your weekend! Celebrate the women in your life!

hugs and all that good stuff!

Peach-lmao! I picture you a character out of "Grease"!

Just a quick in and out! I'm supposed to getting ready for a wedding I don't really want to go to! It doesn't help that I'm so ticked off at SHSHSHDH that wedding vows ARE NOT what I want to be reminded of! I thought men were supposed to get better with age???? Does anyone else's husband put everyone and everything before you???

Aw well. Have a great one chickies!

Default Happy Mother's Day

Hello Ladies,
I just wanted to jump on board and wish all the Mom's, and all those who are honoring their Mom's, a happy and blessed Mother's Day!
We are discussing where to go eat for Mother's day. Since I am the junior mom in the group, (my mother-in-law being the senior member, with no other members invovled in the decision making process), the vote will probably go to her. I am pushing for the OUTBACK in Las Vegas. It's got a lot of good choices for a low carb eater, although we'll end up waiting for an hour to get a table. Waiting is not my in-laws strong suit. I'll find out today at lunch!
Have a great weekend. I don't have access to a computer on Sundays. Mine is broke. My husbands is a lap top and with him in Canada so I've been using the local library (which is only open 4 days a week. No Sundays, Mondays or Fridays). I drove to Las Vegas and used a library there yesterday, but it's about 50 miles away. I did win $135 on a video poker game while waiting for a prescription to be filled. If I were that lucky all the time, I'd drive that 100 miles round trip everyday!!! Maybe I could eventually afford to get my computer fixed!
Have a Glorious Weekend!

[[[[[[[[[[[[[[MB]]]]]]]]]]]] however you and your MIL spent your mother's day, i hope it was great.

and yes, there's certainly a lot of stress in your life, but, as mamaj said, we specialize in stress and drama. and comedy, because how can we cope with the rest without it????

a busy, but quiet day today. took mom out to an herb farm in western jersey, and didn't buy everything in sight!!!! only a few, including two catnips that the dog can guard in the fenced in backyard.

as for yesterday, well, the adventure with THOSE people continues!!!! they actually wanted to distribute MY home phone number as a 'resource person in case of problems'!!!!! i was very polite, but firm: not until i am really employed and not a freelancer. can you imagine the nerve of them????

peachie doesn't think i'll be happy there, but there are some really fabulous, talented people working there, and there's also lots for me to learn in a lucrative, growing field.

well, we'll see what happens.

on the way home, i drove past peachie's house, and she was peacefully sitting on the porch, so i stopped by. and then other neighbors appeared, so it took me more than an hour to actually leave.

it was fun. isn't spring grand???? oh, and peachie's hair looked very nice yesterday. from the sounds of it, something weird happened overnight.

happy mom's day, ya'll!!!!!

MamaJ, no, men don't improve with age! Not unless they are beaten with the truth regularly! Mine is kissing you-know-what BIG time right now, but, if I let him, he'd slip right back into the bonehead act. Our marriage came to a near screaming halt and he's still scared sh*tless that I'll leave. I do give him credit for trying to fix his behavior though and, with patience and prayer, we will be okay again.

Other than that, it's a crappy day with rain and high winds. Yesterday we had a bit of excitement. We had two male rose breasted grosbeaks at the feeder. I hope that there are two female ones too. It's so much fun to watch the birds at this time of the year.

Well, pals, I have some junk in the kitchen to do. Take care and have a wonderful Mother's Day!

WARNING! This one's gonna be kinda lengthy as I haven't seriously posted all week.

Regarding Weight Loss Efforts -- Taking the supplement seems to be helping. Lost 2 pounds and a little over an 1" total body reduction after just one week of taking it. Imagine how well I could have done if I'd actually stayed OP and gotten in the exercise I should have! Although I did get in a few walks during the week and remembered to drink all of the required water everday but one.

Regarding Mother's Day -- I told DH what I wanted and then went out and got it! After 8 years, I know better than to "drop hints". I got the plastic patio furniture K-Mart recently had on sale for the 70" round table (no umbrella) and 4 low-back chairs (only $34.77). I even sprang for two additional chairs (after all there are 5 of us) and a pretty, patriotic-colored table cloth. Next year I want the umbrella (or maybe at the end of the season if I can get a really good price). We are currently using the set in the corner of our parlor as a game table and "pizza night" table (when we make pizza and all sit down to watch a Disney movie or video). My littlest DS and his friend also have been using the table as a fort (courtesy of a spare full-sized sheet). DH offered (reluctantly) to take us all out for breakfast in the AM. I very nicely refused (funds are low and we've tried that for the last 3 years and ended up all grumpy due to waiting and overly tired kids -- not worth the effort). Instead, he's cooking us a steak dinner tomorrow night with my choice of side dishes. Sounds much better to me!

Regarding Seasonal Allergies -- The pollen count is very high here (has been for a few days) and I'm feeling it in my head (achy, sinus headaches, and tired). The Allegra I take helps with the itchy, wattery eyes and the sneezing but doesn't provide a decongestant. Guess I'll have to buy a seperate one for the days the pollen is this high. Anyone else having allergy problems?

Well, that's it for now. Hope you all enjoy tomorrow no matter how you chose to celebrate the day!

Talking I deserve the big DUH for today!

I have read this thread 3 times today, but never posted! Doh!!!!

Anyway, nothing major going on here, trying to keep food out of my mouth (it isn't working!!!!!!!!!) and trying not to strangle anyone (so far so good) and that's about it. Sis and I went shopping for mom's day and we bought each other a gift as well. Ain't we cute? She swears her hubby will forget and she will never speak to him again. Both our kids are too young for shopping, so we have to improvise. Anyway, tomorrow we will both have FABULOUS feet! I draw the line at giving each other pedicures, however!

Ya'll have a great evening and a wonderful Mother's Day if I don't hop in tomorrow. Take care of yourselves!

Default In Need of a Kick in the Butt!!!

Well, my meds would seem to need some adjustment .. I feel like I am going through withdrawl!! Is that suppost to happen with antidepressants?? Guess so .. (note to self - Must see doctor for stronger happy pills!!) I really do find a huge difference in myself since I have been taking them. I seem happier, less tempted to eat crap, and have been feeling much more at ease with myself. However, in the past week, I have found that I have been much more emotional .. **** I was afraid to attend a WW meeting!! I only started a few weeks ago and missed one due to MIL passing .. and I never have liked groups .. they make me anxious. I have always been really REALLY shy so just making the attemts to attend the group has been difficult but I have forced myself on previous weeks .. but why am I afraid???? Maybe its my fear of failure .. fear of groups .. I dont know .. I havent been following anything this past few days .. I think I have given up This is NOT a good thing!! Eatting is for the birds .. I would much prefer to just drink protine shakes .. I cant possibly eat all the points that I need to .. but in order to lose weight, I have to eat .. does all of this sound weird to you guys?? Geeze .. I have to get it together and DO IT!!! Maybe Im just a poser .. a wanna be dieter .. and live in the land of self pitty!!! Im even afraid to go to a gym by myself and I dont know anyone who will go with me!!! HELP IM LOOSING IT .. IF IN FACT I EVER HAD IT!!!!!!

(((((Laura))))
You are not losing it and you do have it! Phone the doc on Monday and get those meds adjusted. I sure as heck wish I lived near you so we could do WW together.
I'm not sure that you really need a butt kick but, if so, somebody else can do it. Just be easy on yourself for a bit - it has been a very stressful month or so for you! And get your butt in here and post - even if it is a pity party - we like parties!

Happy Mother's Day and Happy Miree's 3rd Birthday!

I took out the photo album this morning of Miree's first 3 months and showed her all the pictures. Of course I got all sentimental and weepy, after all it isn't every day your wee one turns into a little kid!

I have the cake baked and iced and everything ready to go and we're out the door in about half an hour. Yesterday's little girl party was wonderful! We made bracelets and decorated cupcakes and we had lots of presents and toys to play with, never mind dandelion picking outside! Aaahhh, I loved every minute of it! Thank Heaven for little girls!

Hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day!
