Default 32 minutes on the elpi=145 calories?

really? That doesn't seem right. But that is what it said. I even put in my weight. Tell me if that seems right to you...

I think it depends on the intensity in which you do it at. If you use a higher resistance setting on your eliptical you will burn more calories.

The machines are always wickedly off for me - too high or low. I use a heart rate monitor which gives a better estimate.

Without witnessing your workout it's hard to say. 145 calories could be right if you were taking it pretty easy on yourself.

I have done eliptical in the past at a level 5-6--which is a moderate pace. My reading would be around 300 most days. I guess it depends on how hard you work. I don't think those things are terribly accurate anyway.

thanks all. I did have it on level 4. It's just hard to tell how many if it's not accurate.

If you really want to know I think a heart rate monitor is the only way to go.

I let the TDP estimate my caloric burn for my walks to school - I put in my pace (which I know because I know the distances to where I'm going and can time it) and the minutes it took me and it figures it out for me.

I'm sure I would be much more accurate with a heart rate monitor but so far I'm still losing weight at the pace I expect using the estimates so I'm ok with it. If I stopped losing I would try to get more accurate to troubleshoot the stall.

At level 4 or 5 going about 100-120, I burn around 10 cals/min, so 32 mins would be over 300 cals. It's not that accurate.
