Smile Back again and 40 pounds or more heavier

I was a regular here how many years ago was it? I had a really lovely group of ladies that I posted with. Sadly we all got busy with life and stopped posting. I still e mail with most of the same ladies but as far as weight loss goes for us all? OK I wont even go there now.
I need to get this weight off of me. I feel like a fat slob and I hate my body right now. I want to be able to be healthy enough to get the surgery that I need. I want to be healthy. I want to not hurt when I go shopping. I want to enjoy life again. It is amazing what gaining weight can do to your self esteem.
So I am back on plan starting Tuesday. I will have an official weight on Friday the 9th after I go to my Doctors for a med check and lab work. I need to get labs done to check on my iron levels and to make sure I am no longer anemic. I have fought anemia for the last 5 years. People think fat people can not be anemic. Well I am here to say yes we can and yes we are.
So now I have to figure out where to start posting at. I guess I will go surfing the site tonight and see where my humor will fit in and who I will get along with!

Hi Daphne. Just joined this site not too long ago, but so far I'm very happy I did, which I'm sure is why your back. Know the fat slob/hate your body feeling, oh too well, but things are slowly getting better. Good luck as you start your journey back.

Good luck- the one thing I've learned around here is that weight loss isn't a one time deal, it's a constant "struggle" for the rest of our lives But we can do it!

CURSE YOU NATURALLY SKINNY PEOPLE! lol.

OK lets see more about me. I am 44 years old and have a 22 year old son Tony. I have a 17 year old step daughter Megan who is developmentally delayed, has LGS which is a multi seizure disorder and she has a form of Autism called A-typical Retts. I also have a 14 year old step son Robert with ADHD and he knows how to use that to his advantage. My anniversary is on Valentines and I will of been married 7 years this Valentines.
I am an emotional eater. If I am happy, sad, angry, pleased, you name it I eat. I eat even when I am not hungry and even when I really do not want it. I have ate a candy bar or 2 or 3 or a box of chocolates and could not tell you what it tasted like. I just had to eat is all I know.
I have so many reason to want to lose the weight and to keep it off. I guess I will just keep posting here until I find the right spot for me to visit each day. If anyone wants/needs another poster on their site let me know!

Reasons to lose weight:

1. For my health
2. To be able to walk and not have sore bones at the end of the day
3. To feel great about myself
4. To be able to buy clothing in the regular section
5. To be limber
6. To improve my personal life with my husband
7. To not be an embarassment to my family and friends
8. To be able to tie my shoes with no effort
9. To shop at Victorias Secret and buy their lingerie
10. To show my family how to be healthy

I am going to add more reasons each day of why I want/ need to lose weight. Have to get ready for a meeting with DSHS for my daughter Megan so I will be back later!

Well, I am definitely an emotional eater and like you it doesn't matter what emotion. I am 50, married for 30 yrs., and have 2 sons. My oldest is physically disabled, in a power wheelchair and is in his first year of college. My youngest is still in high school. They are both awesome young men and I feel I am very lucky. I have fought with my weight and overeating for over half of my life, sometimes feeling very helpless. But I believe there's something out there for everyone to get control of it. It really seems until your mind is set for it, you won't be ready to make the changes that are necessary. I am feeling pretty confident these days that I have found the one that is right for me. Keep looking for that one that is going to 'click' for you. I'm sure you came to the right place for the help and support you need.

Glad you came back! You already know what a blessing this site is for support and inspiration!

I was an emotional eater too! Didn't matter WHAT emotion - happy, sad, mad, anxious, tired - I ate through then all

You CAN do this! I look forward to reading your posts - and reading of your progress

Thank you everyone for making me feel so welcomed!

10 more reasons to lose weight
1. To get my digestive system regulated
2. To feel healthy
3. To get my anemia under control
4. To be able to paint my toe nails
5. To wear a bathing suit in public
6. To not feel as if people are laughing at me and my weight
7. To be a milf
8. To be the me I know I am and not the me I appear to be
9. To be able to run with the dog
10. To feel sexy

Yes some of my reasons are silly and shallow and some are healthy reasons. No matter what they are all reasons to get me motivated.

A bit more about me you ask? OK what do you want to know? I had my gall bladder out back in July 2005, and then had a pancrease attack September of 2006 and another in January of 2007. I was put on Paxil for depression in June of 2007 after my step son decided to tell CPS I was abusing him and his sister. I was found innocent but with the hatred that I saw in the kids face I was not able to cope with life.
I was 160 pounds when I met my husband in March 1999. How sad that I have gained 100 pounds since meeting him. It is amazing how one pound here and there really ads up.
I am going to do the WW plan on my own. I have a 3 month journal to write my food down and that will really give me a good start to all of this. I have already been cutting down on my Starbucks from every day to maybe every 3rd day. Hey I am in Washington Starbucks is good! lol
I have 3 different articles of clothing that I want to wear by summer. One is a long white halter dress from Macys that I bought last year and then saw how much back fat I had and wont wear it yet til some fat is gone, I also have a pair of XL pink flamingo pajama capris, and the other one is a dress that is a size 16 that I bought over 6 years ago when I was *almost* into it.
OK is this chick a freak or what you are aksing by now. I mean flamingo capris? Yes I love pink flamingos I have 2 of the yard flamingos even that have faded to a light pink, a few flamingo wind chimes and a few figurines, etc.
OK til tomorrow hope all is well! Daphne

Default Oldie but Newbie

Hi Daphne,

I too used to be a regular here years ago ... you can see just how many years from my joining date Well, I'm back here for many of the same reasons that you've decided to return and I'm determined to stick with it this time as I feel my life is passing me by and I'm sick of living my life feeling the way that I do about myself.

A bit about me ... I'm 46, married for 22 years, with two kids, a son aged 20 (next week) who's at university in the UK, and a 16 year old daughter. I'm from the UK but living in Hong Kong due to hubby's job, where we've been for the past 8 years. I work part-time in a school as a teaching assistant, which I love. My whole social life seems to revolve around eating and drinking, so needless to say my weight has been steadily increasing over the years and I now look at myself and think where the **** did all this extra weight come from?! I feel so old and frumpy, it really depresses me.

I'm determined to do something about it. I want to live a healthier lifestyle and get myself back to the person that I know I can be. I hope to see you around these boards and wish you every success.
