Question What I ate today, opinions Please!

Breakfast:
1.5 whole wheat waffle with peanut butter -6 points
Lunch:
6 inch Subway turkey on white w/ mustard, onions, lettuce, jalapenos, and provelone-7 points
Baked Lays-2 points
Snack:
Other half of Sub listed above- 7 points
I've had only water to drink today.

Not a bad start, but where are the fruit and vegetables?

The veggies are going to be a big part of dinner. As for fruits, I only like a few. I like Apples and grapes, sometimes pineapple and that's it. I am allergic to berries as well. So I am a loser at fruits, LOL.

Agreed! Get those 0 point veggies & low point fruits in there. It will really help keep you feeling full.

I can't believe I just typed that. I used to be so anti fruits & veggies. Definately a huge change in 2008!

Yes chelly you need to get in the fruit and veggies...I know I usually fall a tad short on either a fruit or a veggie each day but it is about learning how to eat nutritionaly sound meals.

As for your fruits look in your area for walden farms products they are 0cal I use the peanut butter on celery and carmal on my apples for a bit of varity. You can also buy it on line.

For me it really meant cutting out my dinning out and making more foods at home that I could pack. Which really has turned into a good thing.

JR isn't it funny the longer we get into this the more and more we eat healthy and dont even notice the change?

Absolutely Nancy! Esp, the making more foods at home thing. It's not even all about weight loss for me any more. I have a hard time buying stuff out that I could make at home for 1/2 the price that would be healthier & prob taste better. I used to eat out every meal.

And salads.....who eat salads? I do now! I was always the girl who skipped the salad and ordered her food w/ no veggies. Turns out I really love a good salad! Crazy stuff!

2008 was a good year for me to learn alot of new stuff. 2009 is going to be my year to really put it into action & see what I can do.

Happy New Year everyone!

I think the greens are missing. I tend to skip fruits because I'm not a sweets type of person, but the veggies are part of your daily vitamin needs not to mention your fiber needs too. Keeps things "flowing" smoothly. I had a can of Progresso Light Chicken Noodle soup for lunch yesterday (whole can - 2 points) which has lots of carrots and actually enjoyed it. Lite soups usually don't taste like much, but that one sure did. Added 15 Wheat Thins Toasted Chips to give it some crunch and I was fat and happy for a couple of hours. Gotta love it. Some greens and good stuff at dinner and I had a pretty successful day.
