Default I'm back in the game!

So I lost about 16lbs in 2 months, when I started calorie counting. I've completely changed my lifestyle and the way I eat. My FH loves the dinners I make and it's been a lot easier. Though for a week, I struggled because I found it was hard to stay on track when friends were around. It may have been because I was only eating 1,200 calories a day, sometimes even less, and I found an excuse to just pig out.

My new caloric goal is between 1,500 - 1,600 and it has been much easier. I also eat 2-3 snacks a day to keep me in check during the day. I'm not hungry and it's easier to resist the bad stuff.

After my wonderful week [sarcasm] I got back up to 231-234ish. My weigh in was today and I'm back down to 227.4!

We all fall once in a while, right? The only thing that matters is we get back up!

A 1,200 calorie diet is really hard to follow and (from my experiences, anyway) is only necessary when trying to shed those last few stubborn pounds. I also believe that binge eating frequently has a root of genuine hunger if it's not emotionally triggered.

The most important thing IS, UNDOUBTEDLY, the ability to just keep GOING regardless of how many times you fall. If I had a dollar for every time I thought I screwed up during my weight loss journey, I would probably be able to skip work for a month AND buy myself a new bike!

Good job on getting back down to 227.4

Thank you all for the encouragement. I'm guessing I techincally lost about 7ish lbs, but that was possibility all water weight. I'm glad I'm back down to 227. I'll be on track for my Onderland goal!!

So glad you're back. I can't imagine surviving on 1200 calories without biting someone's head off. Probably a whole bag full of gummi heads

I find it really hard to stay OP when friends are around too, too much peer pressure. But the good thing is, is that you are back!!

AngelMae ~ It is so hard. That's why I allow myself one day where I'm not anal about my calories so I can enjoy myself without all the worries.

Luvja ~ I can't wait for Onderland! The last time I was under 200lbs was probably 2003. I'm hoping if I step up my game, and make it by New Years.

JulieJ08 ~ Most days it wasn't too hard since I usually sleep through breakfast. But by the end of the week, I felt so deprived. Snacking helps immensely. It makes me feel good through out the day. I've discovered I like pesto and hummus, so it's an added bonus for my veggies. I did my bi-weekly shopping and got some Kashi crackers, carrots & broccoli to dip in some yummy hummus. I'm looking into pesto recipes. I had starbuck's veggie & pesto plate, and it was so yummy. Theirs was a creamy ranch-like pesto!

I was at RiteAid and notice they have those cordinal hershy kisses and OMFG do I love them! I resisted. I would of ate the whole darn bag!

Out of curiosity, have you calculated how many calories you should be consuming? It sounds like the new number is much better for you. From what I've read, if you're on a hyper calorie restrictive diet and are still feeling crappy after the first week, you aren't eating enough. That's bad because once your body realizes that it's being starved, it holds onto fat like an anime fan on Pocky. 15-1600 sounds much more reasonable.

I only say this because I had the same problem. I was unintentionally starving myself and incredibly frustrated that my weight loss was slowing waaaay down. But, since my body had adapted, I didn't feel like I was starving so it didn't occur to me. As it turns out, I should've been eating around 1500, or even more when I've exercised a lot.

Anyway, congrats that you're back on track! Keep it up!

Phoenixflame ~ Yes, and it is around 1,800 with my amount of activity. But sometimes that can be a bit too much. I am trying at 1,500 - 1,600 right now, and if it doesn't work, I'll up it 100 calories. But from last week's results, it has. I was weighing between 231 - 234 because of my week long feast, and I am back down to 227. Most of that was probably water weight, but it has helped.
