Default Biking challange

I have decided to bike the distance from my house to where my husband will be when he is deployed, it is 1,859 miles.

I have a recumbent and will be starting on Sunday the 12th of October. Does anyone wanna go with me? If so, we can post our daily miles here and see who gets there first!

My distance is straight line, using the miltary find site.

Who is up for this challange?

What is a recumbent bike? Is it an exercise bike? Do you mean just as if you were on flat ground? Sorry for so many questions.

gator, no problem, I can make it there at 6 miles a day in 15 months, however, I will eventually work up to 20-40 miles a day. My goal is to get there and 'fly' home with my husband when he returns from deployment.

momma, a recumbent is a stationary bike, but you recline and you are on a larger seat, no sore butt and it is much easier oin the hips and knees than a regualr bike. My bike has several workouts on it, some are flat ground, while others rival the tour de france with hills and such.

When is your husband returning home?

I'll keep you company and do this with you, mind you I probably won't be able to keep up with you but at least you won't be alone.

Not too much progress, but as of today 7.22/1,859

I am just counting what I am walking daily. To and from class and what not. I guess this isnt too bad since Im not counting it towards my workout at all. For that its circuits and weight training. Today was 2.51 miles just to and from classes.

Sweet. I start my road trip tomorrow! I have gotten a few miles in this week, but it was practise, LOL. I can't wait to see you guys on the road!

Luke will be returning around Christmas next year. We have just about 15 months to complete the trip.

Well It's 123.9 miles a month so that would be 4.13 miles a day, based on 30 days in a month. Boy, now thats a journey

Today is the start date, correct?

15 months, huh, I hope to be getting close to goal weight around then. This will help me get these pounds off quicker!

Wow you folks rock! I had it estimated at 6 miles a day, but that will quickly get below what I need to do to get a work out. I haven't posted because I have been so terribly busy.

Sunday...6 miles
Monday...7 miles
Tuesday...8 miles

So far I have 21 miles!

I am working up to doing 40 miles a day, maybe I can even beat Luke home and be here all sexy for him when he returns!

I got 9 miles done today, and boy did I get a workout! I kept the speed at 14+ mph and really blew off some steam.

I have 30 miles in!
