Default How do I tell my friend that I think she has PCOS?

I have a friend, she's not really that close, but it's just because we haven't known each other that long. I guess she would be considered more of an acquaintance. I don't talk to her much lately because she moved across country for a job.

the thing is, after she moved was when I was diagnosed. Then it clicked- she totally has it too! She is severely overweight, has thinning hair, adult acne, and has a full beard she has to shave, which I only noticed while we were on a long road trip and I saw the 5 o'clock shadow. I know she has other medical problems which prevent her from exercising. It's just, that, she is such a wonderful person, and I hate to see how people look at her or to see her suffering. I made it a point to write blogs for pcos awareness on my myspace and facebook, hoping she would read them and things might click for her. Is there anything else you can think of that I can do? I really don't feel close enough to talk to her about this directly.

Why don't you call her to catch up and just have a chit chat about your issues? It won't seem like you are diagnosing her but telling her YOUR symptoms. Maybe then it will click for her.

BTW, It is great that you have been diagnosed and can now move foward with treating your PCOS!
