Exclamation Vegan restaurant HELP!

I'm going out to dinner tonight to a Vegan restaurant and I am totally excited! The only thing is, I haven't been to a vegan place since I started calorie counting. Do you have any suggestions on menu you items that are low calorie/fat that I should be on the look out for?
Since I haven't eaten at these restaurants since I started my diet I have no idea whether they cook in added oils or something.

I'm sure in worst case scenario I'll get a yummy salad, but I was hoping someone might have some ideas.

Thanks is advance! I'm going to dinner in a little over an hour! wooo

Well shucks I'm sorry you didn't get a reply in time. What did you end up getting?

It helps to know where you are going (many restaurants have online menus).

There's so many different types of vegan restaurants, just as there are different types of restaurants that are not vegan, so, there's no way of knowing what the one you are going to may have as compared to others.

I hope you enjoyed yourself!

I did good! I ordered a basic salad with mix greens, cucumbers, carrots and so forth and added some seasoned portabello mushrooms, salsa and eggplant. Then top it off with falafel pieces [which I ate sparingly] with a side of cucumber dill dressing. It was super yummy with the seasons the use.
I'm going there on Sunday, my cheat day, to indulge in one of their sandwiches. Marinated eggplants, falafel, hummus on home made garden bread and vegan apple pie cookies.

I've forgotten how much I love vegan restaurants =]

That sounds great! Is this place in Reno?

Little Rock eating options make me sad.

Yeah, vegan restaurants vary so much, it is hard to say without looking at the menu.
