Cool New to the board, not so new to trying to lose weight

Hello all...

I was sent to this board from a thread on a professional board I participate on and I love what I've seen so far! It looks like a positive place to come and look for support, advice, to vent, etc... I'm looking forward to participating...

This is my second real attempt to change my diet and lifestyle and to be a little more healthy. I'm 36 and weigh 135.6 pounds right now, was 146.5 when I started this a few months ago. I wasn't as worried about the weight as I was the fact that none of my clothes fit anymore and that I got out of breath carrying my laptop bag up a short flight of stairs to my office. I've started exercising regularly now and eat much better - am halfway to my goal of 127.5. (Picked that number completely out of the air, no logical reason.)

I weighed 170ish in 2005 & used to exercise pretty regularly in order to still drink a venti starbucks calorie bomb every day. I then lost 35 pounds when I met and got involved with the man who is now my husband. (Stopped snacking!) I stayed at that weight for a year or so and then in Jan 2007 I put on ten pounds that I could never get rid of, when I got close to 150 again I realized I needed to make a change. Of course, that was a year ago and I never followed through.

That brings me to today - I've been exercising almost every day for three months, have started paying attention to calories and fats, bought an elliptical trainer at home and have started using my weight bag again. I'm feeling good about myself, but can feel that I'm reaching the point where my "why bother" nature will say "Oh, this is good enough, don't worry about it anymore." I'm hoping that this board will help with that!

Long first post, sorry about that!
