Well this is my 4th week on Insulite and i'm also taking the BCP but making sure not to take it within four hours of the glucX. Normally my last BCP is on Saturday and my period starts on Wed. morning like clockwork. I was supposed to get it yesterday, but Monday I started spotting a little and also a little on Tuesday and then that was it. Nothing since then. I'm going to take a pregnancy test tonight, but I just wanted to know did anyone have experiences with Insulite messing with your cycle rather than helping to regulate?
Hmm, I have't had problems with that, and I've been on Insulite for over 2 months. I actually just got mine naturally on Saturday, and I've noticed a 75-day cycle in the past 6 months... which means I have a cycle!!
I don't think anything in the Insulite would mess up a period, since it's just all herbs and vitamins. Maybe your body is naturally starting to fight the predisposed cycle of the pill, and start it's own cycle (I don't even know if that's possible)? Let us know what you find out! Best of luck.
I am new to the scene. I was diagnosed with PCOS approx 2 years ago. My weight has plateau’s however my hormone levels are not off the charts yet. I was reviewing your posts regarding Insulite. Michelle I have been following your testimonies; keep them coming. I am wondering if I should try Insulite because I haven't had a period on my own since Oct 07.
I am not on BC pills but use Aygestine to induce a period every other month. Michelle or any ladies out there -- Can you tell me if you think Insulite really works. I really cannot afford Insulite but will have to try to start it if it really helps. I would like to lose weight; get the hair off my face and have a baby before I am 35.
With gratitude for your courage and commitment to share your stories,
Lady KM
I'm finding that Insulite does not give immediate results like perhaps, the pill or Metformin. But I really really do believe it's healing from the inside out. When I took the pill my hair went away in 2 months and I got my cycle (obviously), but I gained 25lbs in those 2 months and went up to a size F cup (from a DD, so I didn't need any more!!).
What I can say about Insulite is that it makes me feel better. My mood is better, my appetite is less insatiable, and my HAIR on my HEAD is AMAZING. I have gotten so many random comments from people who know me, saying my hair is looking so full and healthy. I was losing my hair at the crown really badly before Insulite. Also, I had very bad itchy dermatitis on my scalp and arms, that is practically nonexistant now. The only thing I've changed is taking Insulite.
So I guess the verdict is that Insulite IS in fact changing your body naturally. It doesn't happen overnight, and you also have to do your part like watching carbs and sugar, and getting at least 30 minutes of exercise every day. Drugs like the pill and Met can have immediate results but it's really not doing anything to reverse the problem.
Sorry took so long for an updated but this week has been insane...took the pregnancy test and i'm not pregnant. So I figure it's probably just my body adjusting to the pills. I'll see what happens this month and then see if I should call the doctor.
Lady KM...I agree with Michelle..it isn't something that is going to happen overnight..the site even says allow 6 months..the immediate things i've noticed is my uplifted mood, a bit more energy, and less shedding. I was having the same problem as Michelle with the thinning around the crown and I do believe it is getting better. I really can't afford Insulite either, but I do believe it is worth it so I do what I have to to be able to afford it. I would say give it a try...if you don't like it you can return it for a refund within 90 days.
I did experience headaches for the first 2 or 3 days as some others have also. They are only temporary and some don't get them at all.
Michelle...size F cup?? I'm only a D and I can't stand it..I feel for you and your back.
Thanks for your responses Michelle and Jersey Girl !!! I ordered the Insulite and plan to start taking it soon. I will post updates as soon as I start taking it. I am praying that this will help me. Over the last 2 weeks I walked 3 - 5 miles 4 times each week. I also reduced my calorie intake to 1700 cals. I did not drop one pound. SUCKS !!!!!!!!!
I will take your words of advice and watch my carb intake. Do you suggest something like the Atkins diet? Is there a recommendation as to carb intake for PCOS sufferers? I haven't heard of this.
My goal is to loose approximately 60 - 80 lbs before I have my baby; if I can have the little monster... I pray that I will be able to bear children. I think my body got messed up after taking the Depo-Provera shot. I stopped taking it in 1997 but my periods have never been right since.
I gained 40 lbs in 1 year on the shot. Then I bled for 36 days straight; that was the ultimate straw for me. I stopped getting the injections.
Anyway, I compliment your successes thus far and am routing for you to reach your goals. Any feedback or suggestions you can provide would be appreciated.
I'm pretty computer savvy but finding it a little difficult to navigate through this website... Hmmmmmmm
Lady_KM...being that PCOS can mess with our cholesterol levels(as it has mine) and keeps us at a higher risk for heart disease, I wouldn't suggest the Atkins Diet due to its high level of fat intake. I've been doing my own eating plan/life style change. I follow South Beachish guidelines...healthy carbs, whole grains, fruits n veggies, lean meat, nuts, and the occasional sugar free treat recipes listed in the South Beach forum here. Being that I see this as a lifestyle change and not a quick fix...I do allow myself to cheat now and then because if we don't give ourselves a little room to live, it won't be a realistic lifestyle change.
I'm not saying Atkins is wrong for all, but personally it's a little scary for me. If that is what you prefer then I'd suggest regular routine bloodwork to make sure it is helping not harming you. My mother tried Atkins years ago when it first came out and she got kidney stones and the doctors were certain that it was from the diet, but who knows.
Thanks for your input Jersey Girl !!! I am not going to do the Atkins because my bad cholesterol is a little high and my good cholesterol is a little low... Maybe I'll look into the South Beach thing. For now, I am planning to eat good old staples -- 2/3's veggies, 1/3 meat, 1/3 carb and refrain from sweets. I hope this works... I have to stop smoking too....
I had my (99th) last cigarette yesterday. I am hoping to make it my last... it's early afternoon and I have not had one yet. If I can make it through the evening I will be good to go.
Lady..I used to work for an accupuncturist...when people went to her to help quit smoking she always gave them toothpicks that were dipped in tea tree oil to help with the oral fixation as well as the calming effects of the tea tree oil. There's something in the oil that helps withdrawl. When my father quit, I bought those for him at a local health food/supplement store and he said it really helped. They taste kind of like cinnamon.
Thanks !!! I am going to get some of those. I actually quit smoking cold turkey approximately 7 years ago (wow, reality check for me -- that was a long time ago).
Back to the story, I quit cold turkey and remained smoke free for 1 year. Then one day I started again and I don't even remember why. I smoke approximately 3 - 5 cig's per day. One of my co-workers tells me she wishes she could get down from 1 pack to 3-5... We all have our struggles. I will suggest the tea oil tooth picks to her as well. Thanks !!!!

I was just wondering how the Insulite system went or is still going for those ladies who started it back in 2008. I live in the UK, and don't know if this treatment is available here but would be very interested to know how well it worked for you. At the Metaformin is what is being prescribed to help with directing glucose to the right areas and to eventually help with weight loss
I would also like to know how you insulite ladies have been feeling after using their product long term. What have been the effects of the system. Is it worth the money? Would I get the same effect by using my own herbal supplements from the pharmacy? Thanks
