Default Hello everyone! In need of support and help

Hello everyone! I too am a newbie and I wanted to introduce myself: my name is Sheryl and I am 33 years old. I too need a good swift kick in the rump to get me started! I have been heavy pretty much all of my life as well. I have lost and gained and lost and gained. I am soooo ready to loose this weight for good! I just don't really know where to start. I have done the calorie counting and was successful at it until I stopped counting and fell into the same ol' pattern. My highest weight was 271 and that is on a 5ft. tall woman!!! I am currently at 262. I just have convinced myself that I am too afraid of failing once again. But I am working on that mindset. I do have a supportive boyfriend and he believes that I can do it, but I just need to believe in myself. I am so tired of not being comfortable in my own skin!! Anyway, I have been reading so many of these great posts and I know that this will be the extra support that I need. So, THANK YOU ALL for being here.

Carri and T -- I too would like to join a group.. count me in!

We got this!!! We can do this!! Rock On!!!

I hope everyone has a great week!!

Sheryl

Hi Sheryl!
I too am brand new and hoping to overcome past failures, your comment about feeling comfortable in your skin particularly touched me - that's exactly what I'm hoping for! I'd be happy to give any support you need, this is a huge venture, but hopefully an exciting and rewarding one. I have problems with willpower so I'll be using these forums for support during difficult times. Take care and believe in yourself! - CeeCee

Hey CeeCee! Thank you for the kind words and I greatly appreciate the support!!! I will be here for you as well. We just have to remember to take it one day at a time. We didn't put this weight on overnight and we sure ain't going to take it off overnight. I do agree that this is a great venture and I firmly believe that it will have GREAT REWARDS!! I too lack in the willpower department but I have decided that if I slip one day, that that is okay. I'll just dust myself off and pick myself back up and continue on this wonderful journey that we call life. Life... that is what I truly want to start living.. not just passing through. I want to be able to truly embrace life and live it to the fullest. And with the support of everyone here, I know that I will succeed this time and so will you!! have faith

We CAN do this and we WILL do this!!!!!

hope to talk to you soon,
Sheryl

Hey Sheryl -

I am so, so glad that you've found us here. Now you can tap into the collective wisdom, enthusiasm, and support of so many, at all stages in their weight loss journeys.

Have you found the 100 lb club yet? It might be a GREAT place to start...a wonderful, active, chatty group of those who have lost or are on their way to losing 100 lbs or more. So much good information can be found there.

If you're planning on calorie counting again, you're in luck - we have a good Calorie Counters forum, too! You might also visit the 30-somethings forum.

Wherever you land, I hope you stick around. You have such a great attitude.

Settle in, find a spot (or, if you're like me, MANY spots), and keep posting. I can't wait to get to know you better.
