Default scale victory!

I've been having a really hard week but have been holding on to my eating plan with great effort. I weigh myself almost every morning on my home scale (yeah, I know that WW doesn't recommend it but it can be irrestible, can't it?), and my weight wasn't really going down for the first 3 days. Coincidentally those 3 days were the hardest because we are in a heat wave and my A/C wasn't working. I haven't exercise all week either because I was feeling too listless. But I persisted in picking core foods for my meals, and got in most and some days, all, of the 8 good health guidelines (well, aside from exercise!)

And then all of a sudden, this morning, my scale is down 3 pounds. So I am totally encouraged. But I wouldn't get too discouraged, no matter what the scale says because I feel so much better eating core. In fact, yesterday, I was thinking that I would eat core even if I didn't lose weight because I am feeling 100% better from all that ailed me a few months ago. And I was sick as a dog back in February.

Actually, dogs aren't sick. They are cute and nice. I was sick as a human who eats garbage!

Hahahaha! Hilarious!
Susan, I've been looking for a w/l buddy with similar w/l goals... interested? My thoughts are that we can exchange food and exercise plans and sort of keep eachother on track. Kinda like what we do on the boards, but a bit more detailed and with a bit more ownership.
Let me know if you have time for this sorta thing or if you're interested.

Susan ..I know exactly what you mean about feeling better when eating core.
It makes it easier in the weeks where the scale is not moving..at least you feel healthy anyway. I think the cycle keeps spiraling in a good direction for me . Eating good has giving me more energy which makes me move more
which makes me want to eat even better and all this is moving my weight
in the right direction. I was having alot of stiff/achey joints before but I feel better now.
This am I got caught out at a horse show a friend was in starving (no past starving) Only choice was a country breakfast and I was too famished to care
and I ate the whole plate. I was so disappointed with all this because I knew when I left the house I should have done a protein shake to avoid that situation. But it is all okay because I will remember that next time I will be
away from anything decent to eat and plan ahead!!
Does anyon ehave any ideas of portable core snacks I could leave in my purse or car? All the granola bars are non core I think. There has to be something. One idea is the South Beach drink mix that has protein and fiber.

Nancy, I don't know of anything core that you can leave in your car, unless you make the core granola. You could bring along some fruit with you, but I wouldn't suggest you leave fruit in your car for an extended period of time.
