Default Let's talk about underwear!!!

When this whole WLS thing started out, I had a lot of trials with my size 13-14 granny panties. I finally got some size 10, because of a little incident where I had two legs in one hole for a while. Well to day I bought size 8s because the 10 were well......Did you know you can't alter underwear very well!! I was born wearing eights! Now, I noticed that after size nines, the granny panties kind of give way to hi-cuts, low-cuts, bikinis, crotchless, buttless, etc. with tasteless sayings on them. No I'm not shopping at Fredricks of Hollywood, just good old Walmart. All I want are a comfortable pair of cotton that covers my "junkette" and doesn't cause a rash!!! I don't remember having so many style to choose from and when you are shaped like an eggplant, you choices are limited. I'm open to suggestion!! And what is it when you get a pack of six and there is that one pair that most have been cut out and sown by a drunk, sadistic vengeful man!?!? The other thing I noticed is that when the GKs are helping me fold clothes and they are using my underwear for chef's hats they no longer fall over their shoulders, down to their feet and trip them up. I used to love Penney's underwear, and now we don't even have a Penneys!! Maybe I'll go back to my DHs boxers, like I used to when he was in the army!!! You all have a good day!

Just my two cents here - and I blab on about them every time anyone asks an underwear question! I LOVE Jockeys. Cotton, comfy, great fit, variety of cuts - including granny! - I cannot live without them. I moved down in sizes as I lost weight, kept the same great cut

Good luck! My biggest problem now is getting used to thongs... but you probably didn't need to know that... ahem

Nancy, you crack me up! Trippping over Nana's-panty-chef-hats!

Right now...I love my spanx! They are the greatest invention...hold everything in place, all the giggly parts! But I do have to wear the lane bryant cotton breifs under them. Oh and I have to beg to differ...I have altered my underwear! Just takes patience...sew, try on, sew, try on...etc. hehehe

I personally have become a fan of boyshort cut underdwear. Because of the cut it gives me a place to put my leftover pouch that is hanging down there.

I buy my undies (pants and bras) at decent exposures (online at decentexposures.com) - their stuff is super comfy, made in america, lots of colors and styles, and it lasts about forever. And they'll modify their bras, even a year later, for a very reasonable fee. Before them I tried cheap undies and Jockey and expensive undies and all wore out within a year but decent exposures lasts and lasts and lasts. (which might not be a recommendation when you are losing weight but is a big one once you get where you're going)

Default Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Underwear"

I feel like Indiana Jones looking for the Ark of the Covenent!! I had Haines breifs, hated them. I bought Fruit of the Looms, hated them. Now about the boy cut underwear from Walmart. I swear those things travel where no underwear has traveled before!! LOL! They were very comfortable and fit my apron well until I put jeans on over the top of them. Then they decided to travel. They were rescued and then they traveled again! I thought it was the jeans I had on, so put on another pair of jeans and they got their walking shoes on again. I don't want to put out a lot of money on underwear, but by the time I find a pair that will actually do what they were intended to do, I'll probably have spent a small fortune! And the quest goes on!

You mentioned that you didn't have a JCPenney's anymore. You can buy online from their website. With stuff like underwear, you don't try it on anyway, so you can order a bunch. Then the GK will have lots of hats!

....deedee....

I can't wait until I don't have to buy my underwear at Layne Bryant anymore!
