Default New Old Gal

Hello everybody. Today is my first day and would love to find some kindred spirits. I am in my mid 40's and have been overweight all my adult life (average teen / chubby kid). I have two teenage children and a very understanding hubby, and lots of wonderful friends. But only those of us living inside the fat bubble really knows how it feels.

I have lost some weight (20lbs) but a recent treadmill accident (funniest home video material I must admit) has me sidelined for about a month now. I am working diligently to maintain my recent loss with good food choices, but have been feeling pretty low here lately.

Once I learn how to add my signature and those cute rulers on the bottom, mine will say, "Feel your feelings, don't eat them" If anyone can relate to living with that kind of challenge, I would love to hear from you!

Welcome, I think you'll be happy you found this site... Its filled with great people, ideas and inspiration... Good luck on your journey... About the signature and 'ticker' you have to have 30 days and 30 posts to get it... I'm told they had a lot of 'spammers' so they like people to stick around awhile.... you'll get there...I love your saying... so true... What kind of a program are you doing ?

Yeah! Replies!

My routine is very basic. Breakfast varies, but 5 lunches a week I eat salad with tuna. Fruit or veggies anytime I want, low fat yogurt with fruit or granola, dinner varies. I just make sure to make healthy choices and STOP as soon as I feel full. No more eating without hunger!

I give myself the freedom to eat anything in moderation, but have found that usually, after the cookies are gone, the REAL reason I ate them is still there AND I feel physically and emotionally down from the cookie binge.

I was exercising every day until my injury. Exercise was a great way to deal with my daily stress. Now I have no food, no exercise endorphins - just the support of three fat chicks! I think its a positive step toward making this change for a lifetime, not a temporary fix.

Yeah, I can totally agree with what you're saying. I'm 173 lbs. and wanting to go back down to 130 lbs. I just need friends and motivation. Someone to motivate me would be great.

Hey, if you have messengers I would love to speak with any of you guys to encourage me. Please?

Glad you replied. We all need encouragement. Tell me more about yourself so I can know where you need encouraging, you already have friends (me).

Well, I'm female, 19, 5'7. I weigh 173 lbs. I would like to lose 43-50 lbs. Just last year I was 130 so anything at that point or below would be great. I've never worked out a day in my life so all I'm doing is cutting my calories to 2000 a day (trying!) and walking daily. I just started yesterday but today I've walked 2 miles according to my pedometer (though the internet says I've walked 3) 7,000 steps, anyway. Uhmm...well, anything else..message my aim or yahoo. im always here

btw, i loveeeee you girls! keep me motivated.
